if you only concentrate on the hep C.....basically it tells you that the

virus causes insulin resistance and fatty liver on ALL people.....and those two

things make the liver damage progress alot faster.

On people who have HIV, the meds they use for it have toxic effects....the

main one is that it causes LYPODYSTROPHY........fat redistribution.......they

loose the fat from some places and accumulate it somewhere else......it's a

metabolic process and it causes high cholesterol and insulin resistance....

and guess what? the Ribavirin is in the same group of meds as the ones they

take.......so when people are on treatment, the meds cause fat redistribution

ahich makes the insulin resistance worse, and it increases your cholesterol

and triglycerides but nobody id really checking that are they,.......so

basically....they are now turning you into a cardiac patient,.

Alot of the problems in HCV are caused by insulin resistance which also

lowers the chances of treatment success and increases damage to the cells by

oxidation.......and you know what could help that? medicines like Metformin

which

decrease insulin resistance.......high protein diet and exercise.

Did you see the part where the docs are layughing and they say that hep C

patients blame interferon for making them crave cheese, dairy products and

sugar?

and they add that it is the worst thing you can eat during treatment....then

someone else says.....well, nobody is going to crave cabbage.....

then they make fun of how dieticians always put hep C patients on a low salt

low protein diet but they shouldn't because high protein lowers insulin

resistance....then they joke.....well...that's just their training......haha

well....why didn't they tell the patients? why do I hear on thie board

people encouraging others on treatm, ent to have ice cream......dairy, sugar and

fat....the worst things you can have while on treatment......why Doug?

because they didn't bother to share all the info they had........because they

didn't tell anybody that by following some dietary guidelines people CAN SLOW

THE LIVER DAMAGE.

They also didn't tell people that the virus causes brain abnormalities that

can be seen on MRI on almost everybody evn the people who have very mild liver

damage.......why didn't they Doug?

Maybe so you couldn't get dissability for it? shouldn't people know that

their brain is already predisposed to depression before they start a medication

that can cause it? you know the people that have to take a combination of

anti-depressants because they don't seem to work? it's probably because they

have more marked abnormality to begin with then you add interferon and it turns

into a more difficult depression to treat.......I didn't know that, did you?

Did they tell you to increase the protein? how about take anti-oxidants?

and why not?

Did you know that the fatigue so many of you have is caused by leptin ? I

didn't know that.....and it can also happen from hypoxia ....that's why it's

related to people that have apnea

There's alot they didn't tell us Doug.....
