My daughter just started Kindergarten , but she was in MRDD pre-school for three years. That place was wonderful.I was nervous about this school ,but so far they have been awesome. My daughter has an aide I know and she is so willing to learn and help far beyond her duty. I really hate to hear horror stories about schools it makes my blood boil I just know I would be all up in some butts they would have to put me in jail!!!! Also pulling her pretty long curly hair. She does that when shes mad though. Shes gonna be bald by the end of the month!!! Lol Not really!!! I'm making my daughter who picks her nose and eats it, to wash her hands every time she does it. She's doing it to get a reaction from me b/c I see her looking at me when she does it. She doesn't do it all the time, but doesn't like it if she has to go wash her hands. Guest guest Posted September 22, 2004 Report Share Posted September 22, 2004 Hey, I'm ie's Mom, ie too like to spit, I tried time out, and time out and time out......school tried time out, time out and time out.............then we started making ie clean it up all by herself.....then I told her " spitting was yucky " and Mommy does not like it, don't do it again!!!!!!!!............it decreased dramatically, when it did happen she got the same, " spitting is yucky and I don't like it, don't do it again or you will not get any french fries or your strawberry milk shake at Mc's (ie's two favorite things when we go out shopping or on trips)...........it went away. And thank GOD has never come back. Did the same thing with her picking stuff off the floor ad eating it, that stopped too! Simple.......I know! But it worked!!! with ie and also , Janet Long's daughter who was in the same special ed class as ie at the time and now is working for (the mom of Randy and Ricky, twins with Autism) and they are in kindergarten (it's working for the teacher)at ie's school, I volunteer at the school with Project TEACH.
