Guest guest
Hi- My daughter is 8 months old (She was banded at 7 months, 4th week). She has a mild case of Plagio. The ped did not recommend a band for my daughter. But after two months of agressive repositioning and guilty feelings--I opted for the CT DocBand solution. My husband supported my decision and after only 5 days in the band...we can see rounding out of her head. WE ARE AMAZED and SO EXCITED. Now, we have no regrets and I do not have the guilt of should I or shouldn't I have? I have done my best to round out my daughter's head. She can onlly get rounder.....what is there to lose? Of course, it is not cheap and insurance does not help. But-I want my daughter to be perfect and not ask me why I ignored her flatness. Just as an FYI-our Ped said that our daughter does NOT have any asymmetry. But, after the casting, CT found that she has a slight asymmetry which is correctable with the band. If I had waited, and NOT banded, then our daughter would have the asymmetry the rest of her life. Again, it was not so noticable, but CT concluded this evidence after the casting. So, sometimes, it is better to go with your instinct rather than listen to a doctor who may not know your child. I always said that my daughter has one ear which stick out more than the other. The doctor said that she can always have plastic surgery, if it becomes an issue. To me-that was a last option but maybe the band will fix the problem w/o pain and more expenses. That's my thought. I wish you the best in your decision. I hope this helps. & Lea (DocBanded 11/14/02) > Thanks for the input. We do have a CT center in our area.
