I think easy bruising can sometimes be caused by Vitamin K deficiency. Has your friend's child been on antibiotics recently? One source of vitamin K is from gut bacteria, which may be destroyed by antibiotics, possibly leading to a vit K deficiency.Joanne>> Hi all,> > A friend has concerns re. bruising (not caused by bumps or bangs).> Could vit C/detoxing cause bruising?> She intends seeking medical advice but ideas would still be useful. Jacqui - I didn't know vit c. was a weak chelator - was thinking of starting a fat soluble vit c supplement as is supposed to cross blood/brain barrier and help protect the brain from oxidative stress- so better than water soluble vit c. Do you or anyone else know whether this could redistribute heavy metals then? You've got me thinking.JanetTo: Autism-Biomedical-Europe From: delyme@...Date: Wed, 28 Sep 2011 15:00:43 +0000Subject: Re: OT - bruising

Could vit C/detoxing cause bruising?

well it thins the blood, doesn't it, (as I'm sure you know ;-). So not impossible. Maybe it depends sensitivity or what else she's taking . FWIW I think I had lead redistribution with it, yet it's only a weak chelator. Jacqui
