Guest guest
Dear Carmen, I agree with you this disease does seem to be so diverse. I believe that it effects our entire body in one way or another. I wish you were feeling better. I know you don't like the Pred. but if your feeling bad you may have to up your dose. For quite awhile the Pred. was the only thing that seemed to help me. I have been on Enbrel now for over 2 years. I believe it is the best medicine I have been on. It has helped with my joint pain and stiffness. I haven't had any noticeable side effects from either med. Even though it helps it doesn't seem to quite do the trick in controlling my disease. I believe the Plaquenil helps me a little but only when combined with other meds. I am currently on just the Enbrel and Plaquenil because my body can no longer tolerate a lot of the meds. The meds either don't help at all or I end up having side effects from them. If memory serves me correctly both of these meds took a long time before they started working. I didn't think the Plaquenil helped at all until I stopped taking it for awhile. That is when I noticed a difference in my stiffness and pain. Probably when you are totally off the Pred. you won't be so puffy. I am not on Pred. but I seem to be losing quite a bit of my hair as well. I believe my hair loss is from the disease or who knows it may be from the meds. The Mtx also made me sick when I was on it. I was on the pill form. The injections seem more tolerable and people seem to have less side effects. Thanks for sharing and comparing notes so to speak. I hope the Enbrel starts helping you soon. I pray you start feeling better very soon. Let me know how you are doing. Love, jatw@...
