<<I don't understand why its a shame for anyone if a (?)foreigner becomes PM

?Isn't it what true democracy all about??>>

ly speaking, I would not have had any objection in becoming our

PM if her capabilities were more than just carrying the " Gandhi " surname.

Imagine the scenario, if Rahul Gandhi marries his Columbian girl friend, one day

she too might claim the prime ministerial berth just on the basis of being

Mrs.Gandhi. There's no parallel in the whole world where a foreign-born person

has risen to the topmost post in the country. To quote an article in sunday

times of India... " Even great bastion of democracy, the United States, does not

allow foreign-born citizens to become chief executive thus keeping the highest

office out of reach of 'eminence grises' such as Henry Kissinger and Madeleine

Albright. "

<<That means if today Bobby Jindal makes it to the governor of

Louisiana......>>

Jindal may become a governer or even Prez but he is a second generation

Indian American, unlike .

Sorry Ashok, don't quite agree with you on this .........and frankly,

i don't understand the cause of your shock.Try to understand i'm not

comparing apples with oranges, its not b/w BJP or Congress,.....its

about giving opportunity to a person who after marrying an Indian

called Rajeev, didn't hesitate twice to embrace Gandhi name, our

nationality,our Indian culture,our people,our language......our

nation with all its pluses and minuses! And not only that she lost

her husband for this great and loving nation called India!.....Her

family got disrupted, she accepted with grace whatever the people of

India gave her......all for what?.......only to be called as

a " Foreigner " or " Gora " by the so called educated,literate and

analytically mature minds of the great country called India!

Still not clear?.............Alright, how about

tomorrow Neeti swearin' in as president of United States!!......:))

I'm sure all those people who are protesting this 's Italian

birth............would be the first ones to open up champagne

bottles and congratulate each other on that, despite of Neeti being

an Indian by birth!!.......:))Double standards....everywhere!!Hope

that makes some sense......or don't tell me, you guys won't be

happy to see Neeti as the president of US!!.....:))BTW,Neeti, the

president of US,oh,wow,what a wonderful feeling!....adios,folks,I'm

very busy.........I have some better things to do.........lemme day-

dream on some real important international agendas,.......you guys

can carry on with your neverending 's Indo-Italica issue with

Indian Government!........:))))

Dear Prabha,

Very well said.

PS: There is no point in cribbing about it, in any case it's not in our

hands now

PPS: In any case Manmohan Singh is the likely future PM

Dear Prabha,

You are absolutely wrong. In a recent interview has admitted to

her liking Saris and has them specially designed by a designer.
