Guest guest
Hi Everyone - I just want to tell everyone how glad I am that I found this list. I've been reading through the posts, and damn near every single one sounds like something I could have written. I have JUST figured out that fada is almost certainly BPD (also OCD, ADD, paranoid in general, among other things - but it is my understanding that BPD usually co-occurs with other forms of mental illness). A shrink years ago suggested that he had BPD and I'd never heard of it, and for some reason never looked up info on it. (I didn't have a computer then, also I just sort of preferred to think, " no, he's just an asshole, a diagnosis will only excuse him " , etc.) Now I have a computer (have had it for over two years now and it's been just groovy and a godsend in many ways), and a new therapist who's great (although I haven't brought up the BPD thing about my dad yet - although I've certainly brought him up in sessions), and in working with her I've remembered what the previous shrink said years ago. I just put the " eggshells " book in my cart at amazon, so I assume I'll be getting it in the mail very soon - I've been reading the website and feel so so SO much better - before, the only thing I could relate to was literature about adult children of alcoholics, who seem to have grown up in a similar environment, except my fada can't just " get sober " one day at a time... the general child abuse info and books out there are good in terms of dealing with the aftermath, but haven't explained WHY it all happened... In talking with friends about PITA parents, it has always been so hard to describe things... I basically ended up hiding a lot of what was going on because I knew no one could ever relate to what happened in my family of origin. So how happy am I that I found this place? Sorry so long...just letting you know that I'm tres enthusiastic! -Kathleen
Guest guest
Tammie, I am asthmatic ( all my life ) and also love oregano. BUT, it does not do anything for my asthma, except when I feel a bug coming on that could go into my respiratory tract, I hit the oregano immediately. The high linanol and carvatol compound in the oregano essential oil kicks major butt to bugs that dare invade humans. BUT, be careful of the oregano hype it does not cure everything, as some might tell you.. Get a good oil from a dependable supplier*, cut it with olive oil, 3 parts olive oil, one part oregano and of that use only one drop. Crumbled on bread or yogurt or in chicken soup., not under your tongue, not direct, the membranous parts of your mouth will scream if it comes in contact with it. I also keep a tiny bottle in my purse at all time, sniff it after I have been to a movie or other gathering places, to kill bugs, rub a drop in my hands after the use of public restrooms, shopping cards etc. My immune system is poor, I have hypogammaglobulimia, and the oregano has been a wonderful thing for me.. C-M I buy mine from Butch Owens at av-at.com He supervises the fields and distillation, has a GC test for potency and no middleman, therefore is cheaper.
