Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I am getting a little bored by just alternating the 10 lb slimdown workouts, so today I threw in a different one. The rotation schedule called for Lower Body and Core - so I tried Whitmarsh's Results workout which is divided into 2 segments - upper body, abs & cardio and lower body, abs & cardio. I went w/ the lower body workout. The workout is 30 minutes and alternates 1 min of cardio w/ 1 min of strength. It was all fairly straightforward and familiar. The strength moves were your standards - lunges, squats, curtseys, deadlifts, etc. (you can go moderate to heavy with most of the exercises, some included some rotation moves which I lightened up on to spare my back - generally it is best for me to get familiar with a move w/ lighter weight before doing it w/ a heavier one!) You can also go at a slower pace than and use a heavier weight for variety. Cardio was basic (what else can you do in 30 min?) - starts off by showing a lower impact version and then takes it higher so you can always stick w/ lower impact if you need to. There were three ab exercises at the end - one was doing punches w/ weights - I lightened up on those (my olbiques are sore from doing this move in 's ab workout earlier this week - plus I don't think it is great for my back to use heavy weights w/ these types of moves - and, I'm also wondering if that wouldn't just build up my waist and make it thicker albeit more muscular...), one was a floor exercise and then she did mountain climbers. I liked this format - the time flew by. The workout actually felt a litltle easier to me than the 10 lb slimdown workout although there were similar exercises. I was going to add on 10 lb slimdown core, but I felt like something different so I pulled up a Pilates workout on Exercise TV and did that instead. I understand Barry's bootcamp features this 1 min cardio/1min strength thing so I should pull that kit out (I also think is in those workouts) Tomorrow is yoga -planning a little bit of cardio with a longer yoga session. Friday is upper and lower from 10 lb slimdown, I think I will do 10 lb slimdown lower and results upper. Take care!Donna
