Guest guest Posted November 27, 2002 Report Share Posted November 27, 2002 - Congratulations ! Wow! That was fast! We decided to go ahead with the exit cast for a couple of reasons. One of them was the same that you mentioned, the tort. Dane was discharged from PT the same week he graduated. I was a little concerned about it, so we did the cast. We just live 15 minutes away, so it was a minimal investment of time. I was a little bummed when I got the cast back. Part of it, in front of his right ear, has a bulge that he doesn't have. But, I must say when I freak out about regression, it is nice to pull it out and see that he looks just as good as he did when he graduated! I am sure he looks better than in the beginning, although not 100% correction, anything is better than nothing, esp. given his " older " start wearing the band. I am happy with the results, I just know they could have been better if our ped hadn't been such a jerk! We started questioning the flatness at about 3mos and really started pushing the issue at 9mos. He wasn't banded till about a week before his first birthday!
