I hope we can continue having these sorts of discussions, although some people seem to object. I know this is a vegan group but it helps to get different perspectives, especially for us newbies trying to find our own individual way. Of course, I'm totally confused now, especially as my daughter is getting closer to the age when she'll be starting to drink milk (or supposed to anyway). I'm concerned about something Simon said regarding vitamin deficiencies (B12, D) within the macrobiotic community. Can someone please elaborate on how grain milk, etc. can replace cow's milk? I mean, nutritionally, how do the amounts of calcium, vitamin D, etc. compare? I would love to see some actual numbers, not that I doubt your wisdom and expeience, guys, but I need to do this for myself. Perhaps someone can direct me to a resource? Oh and I did order the Yummy Yummy in my Tummy book so I'm expecting to learn lots there. And please, guys, don't get offended by all this dairy talk, I, for one, am learning a TON from this!!
