Guest guest
I also have a highly gifted child with OCD issues, as well as depression. For her, the depression has been the bigger issue lately. My daughter is 13. How old is your daughter? Guest guest
Yes, my son is also in the gifted program at school. Our school counselor made the analogy as to why gifted kids have anxiety disorders, and that was that smart kids are able to think of " all the possibilities " , and some possibilities produce anxiety....made sense to me. in Southern IL ocd and gifted kids I have a highly gifted daughter with OCD, and am inclined to think there is a correlation. I'd love to speak with others who have academically gifted kids with OCD. Our list archives, bookmarks, files, and chat feature may be accessed at: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group// . This is the first year she has had any real enrichment at her private school--the school has been under pressure to eliminate gifted enrichment because of complaints by parents that their children were being left out. The enrichment--out of class with a small group of other gifted kids--has made her much happier. > > > >
