Guest guest
Definitely mentally hyperactive, I often have trouble swithching my mind off - which can make sleeping difficult. Even then I dream a lot and recall quite a lot of them too (so it's still not switched off). I think meditation is the only form of switching it off to some extent that sometimes works. As for the physically hyper active - not particularly - I suppose I have my moments :-) Was probably more active as a child, but I didn't have a computer then :-) > We have a new member here. Are you mentally hyperactive Yes, my mind is always racing around. I have experimented with various prayers/medidations/rituals at night to try to get my mind to shut down so I can sleep. If I do things that stimulate my mind (such as reading non fiction or having a serious convesation) it helps my peace of mind, otherwise I get very mentally restless. > 2. Are you also physically hyper? Yes, yes yes! I do an intense arobics workout twice a day (DDR on the heavy setting) and some weightlifting/strength training as well (not every day). I find that this helps me to be less stressful. Moderate exercise does not do it for me, the exercise has to be intense. It is difficult for me to sit still. If I watch TV or a DVD I usually do my knitting at the same time. If I have to be still I often get restless and sometimes irritable. > 3. Were you physically hyper as a child? Strangely, no. In fact I had something in my teen years that was very similiar to chronic fatigue syndrom (before this was a recognized condition) and my doctor could not find any physical reason. Now I believe that the stress of acting normal and supressing my natural tendancies (for example anything even remotely resembling stimming was forbidden, I was ignorant of AS and didn't understand why it was so incredibly hard for me to sit perfectly still) was taking so much effort, and causing so much stress that I was completely drained. May have been at one time but body cannot keep up with mind any more.3. Were you physically hyper as a child? I was always outside and away from home so no one complained but since I never stopped I probably could have been.
