core class - yoga

I was going to start STS today, but I remembered that we were going to do a second week of core at yoga class, and disk 1 is upper body. I am so glad I changed my mind.I did some yoga with Eion Finn at 5:00 a.m. and then did my bike commute. The yoga core class was an hour and a half long. I work with athletes, but everybody was moaning! It was tough! So many variations. We also did some really difficult breathing exercises-, but they're crazy looking when you do them right. http://www.yogalesson.com/pranayama/nauli.html

I did want to share something with you. The instructor talked at length about how important it is to stretch your abs. We tend to work them so much, and they get tighter and start to contract. That's bad for posture and alignment. 

I'll start STS tomorrow. Oh, and I got my new running shoes. They are fantastic!
