Guest guest
I just got back from the eye doctor. After the exam he told me that everything looks good: The vascular structure is good, no plaques or rough patches, no tears in the retina, no sign of any trauma or bleeding or anything and the laser surgery that I had had done 13 years ago had healed very well. He thinks that given that I have no damage and no risk factors that most likely what happened was a precursor to a migraine that never fully manifested. That makes sense since I do get 2 or 3 migraines each year but I get the precursors much more often than that. The usual things are halos around objects, flashes of light and things like that. Do this was most likely one of those events that just didn't make it all the way to a migraine. They also said that my perscription for my glasses has not changed in 7 years. The pressures in the eye are also very low and lower than they were 7 years ago, which is a good thing since high pressure increases the risk of glacoma. However, because of my nearsightedness, the doctor suggested that I come back every year for an eye exam to check the retina for tears and such. So, I am going to do that every year before I go to Alabama in the spring for the reunion. That way if there is a problem they can catch it before I am a long way from home.
