Guest guest
My doctor called and told me that a DEXA scan indicates that I have osteoporosis of the spine. He told me to take Fosamax and vitamin D. I did a web search and found out that the FDA approved Fosamax Plus D a couple of months ago. It is qw, 70 mg Fosamax and 2,800 iu D. Neither my pharmacy (AD-RX in LA) nor my doctor were aware of this combo drug. I will start it tomorrow. I would like to hear from anyone with personal experience with Fosamax. What is taking this drug like and what does it entail? Can the Fosamax actually treat the osteoporosis? I already exercise, weight train, use testosterone and do not smoke. Also, the product insert says that calcium may interfere with this medication. Does this mean that I should not take calcium supplementation while on Fosamax?
