Guest guest
Hi friends! I'm in east San Diego and we have just had quite a week. My family evacuated to a hotel and the Cedar fire ended up coming within about 3 city blocks as the crow flies to our neighborhood. We are SO thankful since so many lost their homes not very far from us. Boy, it sure puts life in perspective quickly when you have to grab your stuff and get the heck out! Please pray for San Diego. So many have suffered major losses including a N. CA firefighter who lost his life yesterday fighting the fire in n, east of me. We couldn't return home right away because the air quality was so poor and I'm extremely sensitive with allergies/fibro. And then my kids were sick at the hotel! Stomach flu! When it rains it pours...... LeAnn

Guest guest
Dear LeAnn, Sounds like you have had a really horrible week! My heart goes out to you, your kids, your friends, and to the communities and people of California. I have really been concerned this week about those fires, and the people I love in California. I appreciate hearing from you and knowing how you are!! I have a very special friend who is in the fire department in Paradise, Calif. I'm not sure where Paradise is, or if he came down to help in the fire, but he is a truly special, compassionate person. I'm hoping he is okay, as well. Keep hanging in there. Things should get better soon, I Hope!!! We will continue our prayers. Let us know if you need anything in particular. Love, PJ LeAnn Kirsch wrote: Hi friends! Guest guest
Hum. A microwave??!! Okay, we never know what we will take in an emergency! LOL Hugs, PJ wrote:LeAnn, I'm so glad you and your family are safe and ok! Well, except the the kids having the stomach flu. How many kids do you have?? Sick in a hotel room is definitely the pits! I know the stress of having to evacuate, not from a fire, but once when I lived in Corpus Christi, TX and have to run from a hurricane! I grabbed our family photos (very important). We had a station wagon at the time and I tried to cram that old car with everything I could. I even took my microwave...lol...for Pete's sake - the microwave! But I had a few hours - something you probably didn't have. Fires travel so fast and are so unpredictable! My thoughts and prayers are with everyone battling this awful fire. I'm especially praying it will soon be over, before any more lives are lost. Love, > > Hi friends! I'm in east San Diego and we have just had > quite a week. Guest guest
PJ, amen to what you said. After conversations with the fire fighters at our hotels, I stand in awe of them and what they do. Even more than after 911 because it hit so close to home here. A few nights ago, a single file line of them came into the hotel from the street straight off the fire line and it was this sense of reverence, a holiness to me. Incredible what they do. They ALL said it was the worst fire they had seen in their careers. Thanks for your kind words PJ. I can't believe how close it came to us!!!! Bless those firemen. Each and every one. They are all so humble too. We thanked them as often as we could. LeAnn Re: Re: Ack! Dear LeAnn, Sounds like you have had a really horrible week! Guest guest
Thanks . 5 kids! Thanks goodness only 2 were sick! And yes, you described it exactly. We didn't even grab our important papers or anything. Just some clothes, medications, and out the door! It's the scariest, intense feeling. LeAnn Re: Ack!
