LOLOL!! i love it!

im glad that you are getting attention for it faster than i did.

because the rib wasnt moving properly it caused alot of

inflammation in my back, traps, neck and eventually a nerve got

pinched which affected the other side (hence the back stabbing

pain). the rib feels kind of back-stabby too, but it is the

pinched nerve that really causes that feeling.

the rib is a hard thing to get at to adjust because it is located

under a bunch of other stuff. luckily it seems that this is a

common complaint that physiotherapists and chiropractors deal

with. dr no might have to work on it a few times before it is

fixed. you might want to try to reduce inflammation and

increase range of motion as much as possible yourself before you

see dr no again, so that it is easier for him to get at it.

my physio says that the rib doesnt actually pop out of its

place in the joint... the issue is that it is not moving in its

joint properly. i can see how your muscle development might

stop the rib from moving in the way it is intended. i had never

thought of it before, but now that you mention it, i can see that

happening.

do try to address the rib pain and nerve pinch with heat and/or

cold, massage and gentle stretching and range of motion

exercises... warm up really good before working out. also

posture, posture, posture!!

im glad that you are still able to workout... especially to do

shoulders at the gym. i would not have been able to do that

when things were flaring up.

mine is alot better now... still stiff but my range of motion is

alot better and the pain is much much less. for me, it has

taken a long time but i am very thankful that i can move my neck

at all, and continue to function in every day life. i need to

be very careful while working out... i still have not got back

into lifting weights but just do body weight exercises.

yes, i also blamed my pain on sleeping... ive tried many

different pillows and positions. i pretty much have to sleep

flat on my back with my head supported properly at the base of my

neck. absolutely no stomach sleeping, and i still cant lay on my

side for any extended time. the rib pain can really make

sleeping difficult, i can understand why you have been feeling

tired.

Yep, it's sleeping on the side that does, it, and Dr. No said that my rhomboids and shoulders are so strong that they are actually holding this injury in place - so I'm a more difficult patient than some for this particular nuisance.

Im sorry you're still having such a rough time with it, Cola Pop!  Yours sounds worse than mine, but yep, sleeping is the hardest thing of all pain wise. Hugs!  I can do most of my workouts, just not the crawl stroke and some shoulder exercises.  I'm mostly upset about this bum foot.  Still hurts a little, haven't gotten results back from the x-ray yet.  I may have to see an orthopedist for it... ug!  The ankle brace they gave me was way too big, I need to exchange it for a smaller one but I don't have a car so dr. visits are inconvenient, then getting time off work, etc.

On the other hand, grateful to be able to do all that I can, these are just very minor things in the grand scheme.  BTW I'm envious you have a fancy rebounder!! Mine is the springy kind.  Maybe with my tax return!  I usually get one nice fitness thing with it.  One year it was kettlebells, another year the spin bike and 6 pack bag, all of which I love.  I too mostly use it for high impact workouts like Imax and such, but it would be nice to do the regular rebounder workouts too.  so far even the basic ones are too hard for me!

Oh, that is one of my favorite workouts! Hilarious pic!

Today was an unplanned rest day.  I got back from the haunted house and was in bed around midnight last nightand crashed - no nightmares :) I slept in til around 9:30 or so and had breakfast.  Seriously at 12:30 I was nodding off and took a catnap, complete with cats, and didn't get up til around 5 something?  It's 9:15 pm and I'm sleepy - AGAIN!

Sometimes the body really does need time to recuperate and repair.  It's important to not overtrain and take 2 rest days per week, and I think this was my body's way of saying " Slow down!  2+ hours a day of working out is enough! "

That said, upper body has some nice DOMS going, especially in my lats.  Yes Carolyn my upper body / neck related pain is exactly as you described and Dr. No did put the rib back in place but I've seemed to dislodged it again, it's how I sleep, I'm sure of it. It feels slightly better today.  I hope your pain goes away soon!!!

Tomorrow evening I go to the gym with Fatal Attraction for shoulders, abs, and swimming.  I can't wait!  We always have fun together.Happy Saturday!Sleepyhead
