Hi, Jenn:

I just saw Dr. for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I

was so impressed that I left a large post -- it's message #5457

written on 5/26 and you are welcome to read it. It's so refreshing

to see a doctor who actually understands what is going on with the

thyroid and endocrine system. I don't know if he treats pcos or

insulin resistance, maybe someone else can fill you in there. I'm

seeing him for Hashimotos with very high antibodies, thyroid hormone

intolerance, and possibly adrenal fatigue. I'm looking forward to my

follow-up appointment this week.

I didn't come all the way from California, but do travel over 400

miles to see him. He sees patients from all over Texas, New Mexico,

a couple from California, Georgia, one from Alaska, and one or two

from Europe. That's very impressive. Let us know what you decide to

do! If you do go, check out the Lubbock Inn to stay at -- two blocks

from Dr. R's office, reasonable, and nice too. They have a medical

rate.

dear nancy..thank you for getting back to me!!! jan was the one who

mentioned dr. r to me..so i came here hoping to get more feedback i am

so happy you have found a doctor who is helping... so you travel there

too...i am calling them later this week..but i was wondering.. you

have to fly, get bloodtests, go home and fly back in right?? coming

from cali would be hard..does he ever do phone consults with you?? or

do you have to be in person??

one other question is ..how is his bedside manner?? you speak so

highly, that i am assuming it is good :)

have you had follow ups with him yet?? any other info would be greatly

appreciated...before i take time off from work/money..i just want to

hear all i can :) thank you so much nancy xoxo jenn

Hi, Jenn:

You are certainly welcome. I am only too happy to help out when I

can, especially since people here have been so kind to help me out!

Did you get to read my post on Dr. from the 26th? I'll go

ahead and post it again, hopefully the terrific folks who run this

forum won't mind. It should answer any questions you have about his

bedside manner, which is wonderful.

I flew up on a Thursday, had my blood drawn the next morning, and

flew back that afternoon. I'm going back this week to go over the

blood test results, etc. I will probably post early next week about

my follow-up. The office told me that Dr. R. likes to see his

patients every four months. You might want to call them and ask them

what your options are, since you are coming so far, especially for

that first appointment and blood tests. Do you have their number? I

don't know how long the blood test results typically take, but maybe

they could work with you if you could stay in town for a few days, so

you don't have to fly back in two weeks. I just don't know, but it's

worth a call to ask.

:-) What part of California are you in?
