Today at the Sweat Shop I was going to do the usual recumbent bike I do where the pedals are more at butt level, like this one: but I noticed that when it went up to level 8 it still felt like level 2.  I switched to manual and level 20 still felt like level 2, so it was obviously broken so I went to the other bike like this one:

and did the Cross Training course #5 on that one instead.  It dawned on me you could probably use this as a spin bike except that level 20 isn't enough resistance for when you stand up.  It also got me to thinking I prefer my spin bike because 1) it's more mobile  2) takes up less room  3) uses no electricity  4) is probably easier to repair because it's not computerized like these are.

Yesterday I did the ab routine that made me sore for 5 days with .  Last time I did it though I didn't feel it very much and yesterday I didn't feel it AT ALL.  Wow, do the abs adapt quickly or what?  To that end, to day I did 100 " Human X's " , 50 on each side.  That is where you lay down, arms and legs out like an X and do hand to foot 50 times one side, 50 times the other.  I have a feeling it will make itself felt tomorrow :)

Tonite is some lap swimming and Aqua Power at CAC.  Normally it would be leg day with Noel but I have an ankle injury and close to having over trained my upper body, so it's gentle stuff today. While I was biking at the Sweat Shop I could see my gut rolls in the mirror and was blue, BUT without even flexing my tricep was VERY visible and that made me smile with glee!  This is motivation to be true to the diet.  I want to see my other muscles bulge through!
