After developing many hypothyroid symptoms over the past year, I finally went to a doc after my hair started coming out in large quantities. I have elevated antibodies and my TSH is 6.3. However my free T3 and free T4 are in the middle of the normal ranges. My doctor was ambivalent (reluctant) about prescribing for me, but I pleaded my case and am now taking 30 mg of nature-throid a day. I've been on it for 5 days now, and I feel a lot better! Is that strange? Maybe it's a placebo effect, because I've read it takes much longer to feel relief. I feel noticeably less tired and more mentally alert than I have in a long time. Is it strange that I'm responding to the med since my free T3 and free T4 are normal? Thanks for any feedback. Right now I don't know how long my doc will be willing to prescribe the med for me, so I'm looking for more information about treating for hypo with these lab results.
