Guest guest
Jan and fellow Texas thyroid folks: I saw the most interesting program on TLC about alternative medical treatments using leeches, maggots, and bee venom. Some forward thinking doctors are treating patients who suffer from MS with injections of bee venom. A doctor in the UK tried it on his wife because she was suffering terribly with MS and conventional treatments weren't helping. Sound familiar? His wife and others have benefitted immensely from the treatment. I haven't had time to look into it further but I'm wondering if ... the bee venom helps prevent the antibodies from attacking the part of the body that results in MS symptoms, I wonder if it can prevent thyroid antibodies from attacking the thyroid. I know it sounds way out there, but you just never know. > There are very few docs of any kind who understand auto-immune disorders.
