Guest guest
Is anyone familiar with the DNR co. www.dnrinc.com ? It caught my attention after the PBS show 2 weeks ago on chemicals. I went on line afterwards and saw a conversation between an MCS person saying " this is real " and a person in Hawaii talking about a product used to pull toxins out of your system. It was recommended by a Dr. in Texas who used it for breast implant patients. He said you could see little flecks of sillicone sp?? floating in the bath water. I have looked at web page and talked to a dealer and in some cases the bath water actually turns colors as the toxins are pulled from your body. One reported the water so black she couldn't see her hand in it, others have different colors or it turns white and foamy. Depends on toxins being pulled out.. The product is electrically charged mineral water. If anyone has tried this, I would appreciate it if you would e-mail me. I need a good detox as I still have effects from carpet fumes exposure last year. Thanks, SS
Guest guest
Thought we all could use a laugh! Top 10 list of What Not to do while on 240 mgs of Prednisone: 1. Don't try to do a 750 piece jigsaw puzzle 2. Don't have an empty refrigerator 3. Don't allow your mom to visit longer than 20 minutes, no matter how much you love her. 4. Don't think that euphoric feeling is going to last forever. (30 seconds later) What euphoric feeling? 5. Don't share every paranoid or grandiose idea you have 6. Don't try to alphabetize your canned goods, you'll never get past the letter B. 7. Don't try to find the matching lids to your large tupperware collection, you'll start getting mad at the person who invented tupperware. 8. Don't try to add numbers larger than 1 digit, don't try to spell words correctly longer than 5 characters. 9. Don't do your chores during the day, you'll need somehting to do while you are awake all night. 10. Don't try to talk to the people at Medicare about the bill they still haven't paid from 1978. That will send you right over the edge. Also, about all the Imuran/Prednisone discussions - here's my experience. I was put on 40mg prednisone in May of 1999. By the time I was down to 10mg several years later I had lost all my prednisone weight and all other side effects. I continued on prednisone for a total of 4-1/2 years, leveling off at 5mg for the last 8+/- months. I had never heard of Imuran untill I found this web site in 1999. At that point I also learned I needed to find a hepatologist. Within a month of my first visit and a new biopsy, I was put on 50mg Imuran and in 3 months weaned off prednisone. Only the fatigue and pain made me go back on pred, but about 6 months later I decided to go off of it again. It has been over a year since I las took pred, I'm still only on 50mg Imuran, and my lft's have been normal the whole time. I am also on Urso for PBC, dx by biopsy, but not with AMA. My AIH was dx by both positive ANA and ASMA, as well as initial biopsy. So I would say my experience is very good. Also, the body normally produces the " equivalent " of 7.5mg of prednisone, so there should be no prednisone side effects when reduced to 7.5mg or less of prednisone, EXCEPT in some people, the prednisone therapy leads to " secondary adrenal insufficiency " where the body can't produce enough of the natural cortisol needed. This may be the case when a doc says " prednisone-dependent. There is a lot more better explained info on this site: http://www.ama-assn.org/special/asthma/library/readroom/jgn90000.htm, Glucocorticoid-Induced Adrenal Insufficiency. Guest guest
Has your pediatrician mentioned " miralax " , it's a stool softener and works! We checked with Dr. Goldberg when we first saw him and he said it was okay to give to our kids. Good luck. Re: Digest Number 1742 Regarding constipation. Grape juice is a natural laxative. Guest guest
I am a mother of an autistic son and I work part time at Big Lots. I do all the paperwork, the official title is Bookkeeper or Office Manager. I have a great boss who understands what my home life is like even though he does not have any children. I told him the hours I can work (usually 9-1) and how many days I could work, which is only two to three days a week and no weekends, so I can have some time to myself and do errands that need to be done. I was even able to be off this summer to be with him and that was extremely nice. My son goes to school and I get to see him leave and I am always home before he is. As long as you give them (whoever you decide to go work for) the hours you can work and the days they can only schedule you for that as long as it is in writing or on your application. mother of Ethan, 4 years old, the sunshine of my life
Guest guest
Hi Everyone. My Uncle had to go to the ER. Hardly any blood pressure and his heart was at 215 bpm. He and my aunt are getting the scare of their life. Today, angiogram to see if he has any blockage. We all know how anxious and worried they are today. I am praying for them and hope for the best. They have so many technologies and treatments for heart ailments. I am certain they will get to the bottom of it and he will be OK. The journey of learning new meds, treatments having a chronic health issue is so daunting in the beginning. My prayers to all of you at the start of the journey and soldiering on after many years. On a totally different note, I still need to talk to one more of you who had SCD 6 months to 2 years ago. I am learning so much and really hope that I am able to contribute to the emotional healing community for SCD survivors. I hope to talk to many of you over the next couple of years as my doctoral work progresses. Please email me if you are interested in being interviewed. Thanks so much, prayers for all, Re: Meds Hello Lynn: I find this site very helpful.
