Guest guest
First of all, let me say Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to everyone. Nola thanks lots for the card & PJ thanks for your note when you got my card. I figured I should drop in & update you all on what's going on in my life, and other than the occasional doctor's appointment, nothing major or exciting is happening. I just had my yearly appointment with the kidney transplant unit & everything looked great, the dosage on one of my meds was decreased, the doctor changed the frequency of my bloodwork from every month to every other month & now I don't have to go for that appointment again for another year. But there are other doctors. Even though I don't post in here liked I used to, I do try to keep up with the messages because out of all the groups I belong to at Yahoo, this one is the only active one left & I wanted to let you all know I'm still around Yahoo some. My own group is for all intents & purposes dead because I keep losing members & no one posts in there like they used, so I just quit trying to keep it going but I still post disability related articles or newsletters when I get them in my email. I rarely even turn on my messenger here at Yahoo anymore & most of the time it won't work anyway. When I posted last time, I mentioned a site I joined called Ringo.com. That site wasn't all it's cracked up to be, many members are very rude, crude & the posts some members make are pretty offensive. I left the site once, but re-joined later, because some of my friends that I'd made there were kicked out for supposedly violating that site's Terms Of Use, which they sometimes take pretty seriously there, but only with certain instances & members or when it suits them. There was one moderator/member there with whom many of us had problems because he was biased towards his own friends & against other members who didn't like him so some of us got together, formed a petition to have him removed as a moderator because we felt he wasn't fit to be one & he frequently violating the Terms Of Use himself, and he ended up stepping down from his positon. The website was recently acquired by Tickle.com & it still has all types of frequent technical glitches & other things that I find unpleasant, so it's not really worth visiting anymore. After a while, I found some of the people that I met on the Ringo site here at Yahoo & am in a couple of groups with some friends from there. I now hang out mostly at a new website that a friend from Ringo invited me to called NetFriendships.com & it's pretty nice, and I talk to many people on their message boards there, but have yet to really get acquainted with or become close friends with any of the people I've met there & there are probably some from Ringo that I've never gotten close to or really got to know yet. Guest guest
Kerry, Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!! It is so nice to hear from you again. As you know, from all my posts I have been on and off the group, via my ventures out in the world lately. However, I never forgot about you. I am sorry to hear that your group didn't work out after all, but hey, good news from the Doctors though and I am extremely happy to hear that. I am sorry that I haven't the time to chat more, however, I am actively looking for employment so I must keep on chuggin' today but I will certainly chat with you later on. Take care, ~Nola -- Hi PJ, Nola & everyone else First of all, let me say Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to everyone. Nola thanks lots for the card & PJ thanks for your note when you got my card. Guest guest
Hello Kerry -- So glad to hear from you again! Sounds like most groups on the internet have their ups and downs. We've had a few here, also. But, what can I say, " I take a licking, and keep on ticking " -- kinda like the really old Timex watch commercials on tv. I hope to be around for a long time, or as long as people would like me to be. When I get to feeling that I have no more to offer, or get to feeling too burned out, or like I've said all there is to say, then ....I may move on at that time. You might try the newish group called " American Society for Positive Thinking " on yahoogroups. is the moderator, and it is a really friendly, nice group with wonderful messages. In fact, may still be looking for another co-moderator for his group, if you are interested. Glad to hear about your health, I'm sure you are relieved to have that appointment behind you for another year. I'm not sure if you knew or not, but I have gotten a moderate to severe case of rheumatoid arthritis recently. It's like it came up out of the blue, and before I knew it, I was very ill. I've joined the arthritis foundation, and am in the process of reading books on how to improve my health with that diagnosis, and how to best cope and handle it. I still have my fibromyalgia, and my 2 herniated disks in my lower back, and my high cholesterol. So, I'm trying to begin taking better care of myself. I've been walking regularly for a whole week now! Not much, but it's a start. What I really need is a heated swimming pool, but it takes me almost an hour to drive to the nearest pool. Well, enough about me. Kerry, I wish you a merry Christmas, and a wonderful, healthy, happy, New Year in 2004 filled with wonderful, sincere, genuine friendships that make you joyous. Thanks much for checking in with us, as we've been wondering about you for awhile now. Hugs, PJ Kerry Standifur wrote: First of all, let me say Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to everyone.
