Oh, if you wanna see outfits, try Wai Lana's yoga lol

This was my first experience with Stacey Lei and my first workout that is intended to be done barefoot. There's a cardio workout first (app. 30 minutes) and then a core workout after the cardio stretch (also app. 30 minutes). I was fine with the barefoot for cardio, even though there's some high impact, that was interesting. Both workouts were interesting. When I first put it on and saw Stacey Lei and backgrounders wearing bandanas and Stacey Lei wearing LOTS of jewelry (rings, bracelets especially) I was thinking it was going to be cheesy and possibly not a good workout. I was wrong on both counts. I definitely don't understand the outfits but the workouts were very good with some very unique moves but not at all difficult to do. The cardio was drills more so than choreographed routines so it should have been easy to follow but Stacey Lei consistently cued on the move and I was consistently behind getting more and more frustrated as it went on. It was hard to put a lot of energy into it when I was trying to learn the move and trying to follow it one step behind at all times so I didn't enjoy it as much as I think I would have if the cueing would have been better. It seems like it should be really intense but I had a hard time getting my heart rate up. The warmup to the cardio was also really different. She does some weird twirling thing with her head and warns that you might get dizzy doing it, which I definitely did. I don't understand the point of that at all. She also squats extremely low and my legs/hips just weren't having it. As I got warmed up it was better but she could do some crazy flexibility stuff that I couldn't hope to replicate. She later talked about not having to look exactly like her, just do your best, etc. but the warmup was a bit of a confidence blaster. I think I could like this if I do it again sometime soon so I could anticipate the cues better, but I'd have to do it often enough to keep that up otherwise I'd be starting over each time I did it.

The core workout was, for me, much better. It also had some very interesting and creative moves that really challenged me. I enjoyed that one a lot more. It was good to get more core in. My weigh-in had me down only .4 pounds from last week (which was high for me) and I've been working pretty hard most of this week my tracking, exercise and controlling snacking so I was a bit frustrated by that but my body is really changing and looking great, including my core area which is one of my big problem areas so I got over the frustration for the most part.

I liked Stacey Lei a lot. I was prepared to not like her but despite the strange workout attire and my problems with the cueing, her approach was genuinely warm and friendly and her form pointers were really excellent. I learned quite a bit as I did the workout and I actually liked being barefoot. (My heel pain finally disappeared by Sunday of last week and I was able to wear my dress shoes this week without any issues so it must have been caused by something I stepped on). I looked her up online and found out she advocates a barefoot approach and worked with Vibram to create the 5 finger shoes and with other companies too. I'd never heard of her before but a kind friend gave me this workout and I'm glad she did. I'd like to try more of her stuff if I run across it sometime (but the cardio was enough of a problem that I wouldn't run out and look for it).

, I am so glad your heel is better. I just wanted to say that I think that it's so helpful to incorporate barefoot workouts. It was the answer to the nagging ankle problem that I had a few years ago. I do all of my home workouts barefoot with the exception of step workouts, and I now use barefoot style shoes for those. I just like a little protection from the step surfaces.

My ankles and knees have been so much happier since then. I think my bare feet trained the rest of my body how to move and land more safely. I think I might like this workout.

Awesome. :)Still love those shoesies <330.gif>Vennitta Oh, Collage! I just watched it. I see that move, and I'd definitely be subbing there. How do you like those shoesies, Vennitta? From the collagevideo preview that one move in warm up made my back sad, but the rest looks very challenging and interesting. As mentioned I would use my barefoot trainers too :)Vennitta This was my first experience with Stacey Lei and my first workout that is intended to be done barefoot. K-Having massive email problems that started last night, finally had to send this from the at & t website instead of outlook express (and had tons of problems doing this too). Been doing a lot of thinking about it and I just get really nervous about spending the money, plus missing work and losing money that way too. We spent so much between the vacation and stuff for the bathroom that insurance didn't cover and I'm just not comfortable after all. I really, really want to go, but I get that upset feeling in the pit of my stomach about spending the money. I said to myself, "I deserve the time off, especially with , Marie & " and then I heard, "You deserve to live debt free and not to have to worry about spending money on something like this" and for some reason,

that voice gave me a sense of peace when I listened to it. I have a goal to have our credit card paid off in a year and if I spend money on something like this, it will be harder to make it. I'm so sorry. You can't believe how badly I want to just have time with you especially but this just won't work for me right now. I can do an all day crop at someone's house (even mine) anytime but can't afford the fee, hotel and meals right now. I might be able to do Karin's crop in February if she does that one again because it is so much less money and even if I did a one day option (to have it cost even less) it would be fine because I wouldn't have to travel far for it. Hopefully next year this time the credit card debt will be gone and I'll be more comfortable. Have fun, I do wish I could go.N-To: exercisevideos Sent: Fri, October 14, 2011 5:45:22 PMSubject: Stacey Lei Krauss Willpower & Grace: Move with Integrity

I think you would like it, . I'm considering trying more barefoot workouts but the only thing I'm worried about is that I have really flat feet and have to wear custom made orthotics so that I'm comfortable. I used to walk around barefoot all the time but then horrible pain in my feet made me go to a podiatrist who recommended the orthotics and I've been very comfortable (except for stepping on things and huring myself that way) ever since. I can see myself trying to do more barefoot workouts but I'm also afraid to going back where I was with my feet too (and am worried impact moves especially might do that). I might have to ask my podiatrist about this sometime. I'd rather find out that way than the hard way!

Re: Stacey Lei Krauss Willpower & Grace: Move with Integrity

, I am so glad your heel is better.

This was my first experience with Stacey Lei and my first workout that is intended to be done barefoot. Re: Stacey Lei Krauss Willpower & Grace: Move with Integrity

, I am so glad your heel is better.

Weird, but I don't think I thought to check collage for a clip (normally I do). I just did now. Which move are you referring to, the twirly thing during the warm-up? That's the one that makes you really dizzy too. Ugh. Those pushups were great and a lot of the other stuff was too. The lunges in the clip were hard for me because I don't have the flexibility she does and wanted to be able to do them like her. I think I need to do this one again now that I know how she cues, it really is a good workout and she's great except for the cueing. Watching the clip made me want to do it again.

Re: Stacey Lei Krauss Willpower & Grace: Move with Integrity

Oh, Collage! I just watched it. I see that move, and I'd definitely be subbing there. How do you like those shoesies, Vennitta?

From the collagevideo preview that one move in warm up made my back sad, but the rest looks very challenging and interesting.

As mentioned I would use my barefoot trainers too :)
