I wish I could attend , but I live in Augusta. I would love to see something like your seminar here.

MISSYSAHM to some special kids!!!

Excuse Me While I Go Raise Tomorrow's Future.

Seminar: Symptom Charting - Why & How?

Please distribute the following announcement.

At the next three GCBF meetings, Ward will be speaking on symptom charting (also referred to as mood charting) -

- why charting is important for any diagnosis

- what you can learn from charting

- what your child can learn from charting

- where to find charts

- how to choose a chart

- how to alter or make your own if you can't find one

- how to chart

- how to use the charts to effectively communicate with your child's doctor, therapist and teacher

You will receive a CD-ROM of various charts in different formats as well as hand-outs and sample forms.

Symptom charting is helpful for a wide range of diagnoses, not only bipolar. Correlating mood and behavior with sleep patterns and medication schedules is necessary for predicting problems, avoiding interactions with diet & medication and communicating with your child's physician, therapists and teachers.

Parents of children with all brain disorders are welcome to attend (bipolar, ADHD, OCD, ODD, TS, NVLD, SID, autism, Asperger's, etc.).

Professionals are also welcome and are invited to offer input and advice for charting.

Missy (and anyone who cannot come to the meetings),

I have uploaded a new section to www.gcbf.org that explains symptom

charting in detail (http://www.gcbf.org/information/article3.html).

See if that will help.

Also, GCBF has a few Augusta members, so if we could get them

together and anyone else you could find in your area that is

interested, I might be able to come to speak. Let me know if you're

interested in setting up a meeting like this.

Best of luck to you!
