Guest guest
Why does he not have an IEP? By AS do you mean Autism? New School Year I talked to my son's guidance counselor yesterday to see how Zach(15 AS,ADD,SPD,ODD) is doing so far. I have asked for an SST meeting to get the whole process going again. I am already being met with a roadblock. I was told we have to have a conference with his team firts then decide if he needs to be on SST. HELLO!! He was on SST last year!! I was blunt and told her I hate to get testy but I refuse to be jerked around again like I was last year. (5, ADHD,AS, SPB, possible bipolar) hasalready started the year off with a bang. In the first week he punched 2 people, was very defiant with his speech therapist and his teacher(we warned her he would do this and she didn't believe me), and yesterday he got in trouble in PE. In the note she sent home she said it was very emabarrassing for HER to get a behavior report on her students in PE/Art/Music. I am working on an SST meeting for him and his psych has already said he would attend the SST and the IEP meeting. His developmental ped said the same thing. MISSYSAHM to some special kids!!! All kid's are gifted; some just open their packagesearlier than others.-- Carr

Guest guest
Smells like BS as well. I will admit I was not educated on the process that welllast year, but this year I am prepared to fight with all I have. Unfortunately Zach doesn't see that he has a problem and fights me quite a bit. MISSYSAHM to some special kids!!!
