Guest guest
Hello! I am a hypothyroid 'patient'. I have known and frustrated about my condition for about 15 years. Initially I was being treated with Synthroid but have switched to Armour thyroid the last two years. I find that the Armout makes me 'feel' better and 'think' more clearly. My doctor seems frustrated with my desire to stick with Armour thyroid as he has had trouble keeping my TSH in the 'normal' range. I take 1.5 tablets a day ( 1 tablet is 2 grains I think) and my TSH goes to <.05. I take 1 tablet and my TSH was 7.00. We are now back on 1 tablet a day and re-test in six weeks. I also have a really hard time losing weight...harder then I have ever had before. I am a hard working 48 year old male and since I am approaching that age where I feel that I should be concerned about being 20 - 25 lbs overweight I would like to solve that problem once and for all. I got married after being single for a long time and wouldn't you know.....we had a baby daughter in 2002(our first). God works in mysterious ways! Anyway...I would like to hear from others that have similar experiences as well as anyone who has seen physician(s) in the Houston area that have some experience dealing with hypothyroid patients. Thanks in advance to all.
