Great workout, ! The resting part sounds lovely too. I'm proud of you! ;) I hope it all felt good.Hello everyone! Okay, I'm trying to enjoy a day off. I did do some paperwork early this morning before the kids went to school (finished just after Miriam's bus pulled out) and since then I've been doing my own thing so far. Right now, for example, after a wonderful workout, relaxing shower with only a scented candle for light and moisturizing myself with body butter aftewards (I rarely take the time for that), I am now watching last night's episode of Project Runway (my guilty pleasure TV show). Ahhh. Not sure what is next besides lunch (left over "The Whole Enchilada Chicken Soup" from www.hungrygirl.com and salad). Scented candle is still going, DH can't stand them so it will be extinguished later today, but for now, I'm enjoying it alone. My last (probably) workout for the week was Jari Love's Get Extremely Ripped 1000. It was a virgin for me. I watched some of it yesterday and it looked fun. There is what Jari calls a tribal beat throughout and I liked that. They also had animal print (leopard?) outfits but the women's tops were odd looking to me. Jari wore a sports bra in the same print. It looked more attractive on her than the others style. Theirs seemed to accentuate the fact that none of them had hardly any breasts or really much in the way of curves. Just not attractive (to me) but not exactly important! They were quite ripped though! Anyway, watching and doing are, as always, totally different. It was not quite as fun as I was expecting (probably because it was a lot harder to do than to watch!) but it was still very good. I used a step platform but no risers and that was plenty for me. I followed the level 3 exercisers for most of the workout but for some, I had to drop to level 2. There was a long interval of jumping jacks and I took really quick breaks during those. I didn't have the cardio stamina at that point in the workout (or possibly even fresh) but it wasn't bothering my physically other than that. I went a little lower than Jari on the weight intervals and that seemed good for me, I couldn't keep up with the speed and number of reps with her weights. I liked the 30 seconds left timer but would have liked one more like the Beachbody timers that show you time left for the entire exercise. That would have helped me get through the cardio intervals with more power (I was holding back sometimes because I didn't know how to pace myself). I did the entire 81 minute workout, including the core section (which were okay, not great, and I did all the pushups on my knees). I was dreading this workout big time. I knew I could do either half of the main workout as a 30 minute workout (and saw on the menu there's also cardio only, weights only and pushups/abs premixes too) but I wanted the challenge of doing the entire thing at once. It was much more challenging than I was expecting, by 60 minutes I was definitely ready to be done, but I pushed on to the end. The last cardio interval was skaters, which I really like doing and I was able to get excited and put a lot of energy into it despite my fatigue. It was, overall, a really good workout but I am so tired. I didn't have a ton of energy going into it and now I feel drained. I think it was probably a bit much for me at level 3 and maybe I should have pulled back a bit. Maybe next time because there will be a next time. I definitely liked it. Time for lunch!

Thank you, !

I spent the rest of my day chatting a bit here and especially finally getting stuff out of my basement that I put down there intending to either freecycle or sell it months ago. There was lots of stuff and there's still some left but not much. I have a few things sold (on our local garage sale yahoo group) for a little bit of money that will be exchanged tomorrow and I've got a few things scheduled to be picked up by freecyclers (plus I'm getting some pants and doll clothes for DD from someone) tomorrow too. Anything that doesn't sell by early next week will go on craigslist or ebay and anything free not taken by freecyclers will go to our church's used treasures sale at our holiday bazaar next weekend. I feel much better for finally having done something with all of it. It said nasty things to me everytime I saw all of it but I always felt too busy to do anything with it. It did end up taking a long time to get it all listed too so it was nice to have no schedule this afternoon to keep it from being done. I'm also getting all my workouts ready to list on the VF exchange for trades. I really didn't know for sure what I wanted to do today and fell into this spontaneously. I had no idea all this would take as long as it did too but I feel like a weight has been lifted off me so that it was good to take the time when I could. Back to the grind tomorrow (3 classes in the morning). Good thing I like the grind most of the time at least!

Well goodness, it sounds like a good mental health day to me.Nice, ! As long as you got a weight lifted off ya, you did great. My day was good. It started a low back muscle spasm from all of the time in bed. I didn't take any meds yesterday because I'm fine if I'm lying flat, but that stinks. I ended up with a low back spasm. I had to get up today. Got a LITTLE light housework done: loading dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, wiping kitchen counter. It made me SO happy, but painful. Vicodin. I see why folks get hooked on it. I won't.

I also did a few rounds of some light standing stretches to see if I could relax the low back a little.  Hamstrings. Quads. It did help. I was able to ease into child's pose, and that made me super happy too. Last time I tried child's pose, it knocked me flat.

The back is starting to release. I'm prone to muscle spasms, and regular exercise and stretching keep me feeling great. Can't wait to get back into the routine.I got a call that I needed some labs before monday's procedures, so mom took me to Kaiser laboratory, and also brought some homemade yummies so I wouldn't have to cook. Not feeling too bad today, actually. All labs came back looking great. I'm healthy as HECK, just have this tiny defect or hole somewhere. It's probably a super tiny thing. Hope they can find it and fix it. Don't know what I'll do if they can't figure it out. Why worry, though? It's out of my hands.

Over and out! it's 8:12 p.m. and I go to sleep EARLY these days. Peace out, my friend. You are a role model.

Thank you, !

Sounds like a great day - especially if it freed your mind from something that was bugging you.

We're having a snow day here, believe it or not. I'm going to bake pumpkin bread and put a soup in the crock pot to enjoy later this week. I also am planning to clean/organize my office which is also my DD's craft room. That is one chore that has been bugging me for MONTHS so it will be good to take the opportunity of down time today to do it!Take care!Donna

Hello everyone!

T! heirs seemed to accentuate the fact that none of them had hardly any breasts or really much in the way of curves. I followed the level 3 exercisers for

most of the workout but for some, I had to drop to level 2.

It was, overall, a ! really good workout but I am so tired. I didn't have a ton of energy going into it and now I feel drained. I think it was probably a bit much for me at level 3 and maybe I should have pulled back a bit. Maybe next time because there

will be a next time. I definitely liked it.

Time for lunch!

Yes, it definitely did feel better!

A snow day already?! Oh wow! I don't think we're expecting any snow soon, I hope not. I made sure Miriam's Halloween costume fit over her winter coat though since I knew it could snow or at least be super cold Halloween night. Mmmm pumpkin bread and soup sounds wonderful. I hope your cleaning & organizing goes well!

Sounds like a great day - especially if it freed your mind from something that was bugging you.

Yep, mental health day is pretty much what it was. Good stuff.

Sounds like you did great on the movement yesterday! It is hard not to worry about things that are out of our hands, control freaks that most of us are (even those who claim they aren't). When big things are surrounding me I often go vacilate between peace and panic. As long as peace is the majority feeling then all is good! :-)

I hope today has been another good day so far (I was going to write, "was another good day" but just realized that I'm winding down, it is 5:10 PM but you're still in the middle of the afternoon there)!

Re: Get Extremely Ripped 1000/Day Off

Great workout, ! The resting part sounds lovely too. I'm proud of you! ;) I hope it all felt good.

Hi!I skipped the cleaning/organizing AND the pumpkin bread - I did make soup though - started a knitting project, (I'm a beginner and keep having to re-start and re-learn b/c I never keep up with it!!) finished a book, played w/ DD, watched some TV w/ DH, so all in all it was a good day off for me. Also, a good reminder that I need to do this more often b/c this morning I woke up feeling well rested and mentally and physically ready for my day and workout!Donna

Hello everyone!

T! heirs seemed to accentuate the fact that none of them had hardly any breasts or really much in the way of curves.

It was, overall, a ! really good workout but I am so tired. I didn't have a ton of energy going into it and now I feel drained. I think it was probably a bit much for me at level 3 and maybe I should have pulled back a bit. Maybe next time because there will be a next time. I definitely liked it.

Time for lunch!
