Guest guest
Thank you so much for your note! I have been unable to sleep all week. Doc told me Monday, matter of factly. (He had blood test 6 months ago and did not bother to tell me!) I will print your note as it is first to make any sense to me. I do not know type yet. Had blood test Monday, results not back yet. Will call Monday and beg doc for a callback to explain questions I have. He is jsut a md or do though. They are referring me to a clinic in Fort Worth at county hospital. I know the docs are very good there. Hope it does not take long to get in. Is treatment a very optional thing? Because it makes you very sick? I am scared to take even sudafed for allergies!!! Doc said to call him if I was gonna take any over counter meds, yeah right, like he will return a call, he only at my clinic 3 day week. Guest guest
Hi, My name is Peggy and I have only written here once a while back when I first started treatment for Hep C, I had geno type two and I was successful with my 6 months of treatment. It was a hard climb but I did it. I finished treatment back at the end of April and I felt great that I did it. But during the treatment I became anemic and ran a low-grade fever. It is now 3 months post and I am still running low- grade fever and still anemic. (Between 98.2 and 100.8) I just want to feel better and get on with life. Does anyone have ideas or things that may help, and is this common? I have been to my regular HCP Dr today and they did more blood work and that's when I found I was still anemic (where as my GI doctor told me I was improving…??? Well how bad was it?) So he gave me a B-12 shot. Hopefully I will get more energy. I swear I feel more sorry for my husband than myself. I just want to hide. Want to say I really enjoy reading letters and opinions from this group. You have helped me more than you know. Peggy

Guest guest
Tam, Hi I am Janet, one of the Owners of this group. Okay let me see if I can answer your questions with the best of my knowledge. How fast do you die from Hep C- Well each person is a individual-it has to do with lifestyle, stage of disease and so forth. I know a lady that is 84 years old. She has Hep C. She doesn't drink, she doesn't smoke, She eats a very good diet. She is still going strong. But she has minimal liver damage from the Hep C. Like I said it is a individual disease and lifestyle has a lot to do with how well you do with the disease. Stop drinking any type of alcohol at once. Treatment is with the combo treatment of interferon, and ribroviran. The drug companies have their own names for these drugs, but the are basically the same. One stays in the system a bit longer than the other treatments. Pegasy, stays in the system 6 to 7 days after the shot. You ask question need, There is no stupid questions. Only the question that is unasked. Tam you will find that this group is eager to help in anyway that we can. Some through experience and we do research from various sites. Love Janet seweasy@... wrote: I am new to this. What is tx, why does everyone have anemia? How fast do you die with Hep C? Can you tell I have not been to specialist? I am self-employed so have coverage thru partial pay state help. Don't know when I get to see real DR. This is all quite scary for me, but if my calculations are correct, have had Hep c since transfusion in 70. if you care to email individual, that is fine, hate you to answer questions here everyone knows answers to. Guest guest
I water down everything but milk. I don't do it because of reflux though. I just think Thaddeus doesn't need all the sugarSent from my iPhone I was just wondering if anyone else is having to water down their childs juice to keep them from getting strangled or if it was just Nora's reflux? I have to water down everything but milk, I had to water it down before I switched her to 2%. She doesn't have any problems with solids now, but it took me up until she was almost 3 to get her to eat them. I never known a child to be almost 4 years old and still get strangled on juice! Guest guest
Hey there, I too water down Peyton's juice. Only because he loves it so much and I know it has sugar in it so I do about 70% water and 30% juice. As long as it has a little of the flavor in it he's ok. Guest guest
I do know that watering down juice is not always a bad thing, it reduces the sugar. Juice is healthier than soda obv., but juice drinking is still a big contributor to pre-diabetes along with soda...the whole fruit is better if possible, the fiber slows down the digestion of the fruit sugar. Hope this helps. Juice is healthier than soda obv., but juice drinking is still a big contributor to pre-diabetes along with soda...the whole fruit is better if possible, the fiber slows down the digestion of the fruit sugar. Hope this helps. I have to water down everything but milk, I had to water it down before I switched her to 2%. She doesn't have any problems with solids now, but it took me up until she was almost 3 to get her to eat them. I never known a child to be almost 4 years old and still get strangled on juice! Guest guest
Hm, this is a new one for me--Todd had severe reflux until he was 14 months old. I know each child is different, but for him, thinner liquids actually worsened the reflux. Some docs suggest thickening formula with infant cereal, though ours did not recommend that since he was just a newborn at that time and would not have been able to digest it easily enough, she said.  Our GI doc said the acidity of apple juice might aggravate reflux--maybe that is why watering it down helps it not to reflux so much? But I don't know why she'd strangle while drinking it. Unless....I just had a thought--maybe it's related to the textural aversions that go along with infant reflux? What do you think?  Todd had lots of that for a while--would not eat mushy things. The GI said it's not unusual at all for reflux babies to get textural aversions.  Good luck with it! , Mommy to Todd    I water down everything but milk. I don't do it because of reflux though. I just think Thaddeus doesn't need all the sugar Sent from my iPhone  I was just wondering if anyone else is having to water down their childs juice to keep them from getting strangled or if it was just Nora's reflux?
