Guest guest
Hello all, will be receiving his first IVIG treatment at home this week. He has only had two so far and Children's Hospital said they do three in the hospital, then you can switch to homecare. Well, our third visit was Tuesday, the morning of the 11th. Need I say more... I knew nothing until I arrived in Philadelphia and saw the news in the hospital room. I turned around and left without his treatment. I live in New Jersey and was 1 1/2 hours away from home. They set me up with homecare ASAP, but I am a little nervous. (OK, a lot nervous.) How long did those of you on home care wait before switching? He had no reactions the first two times and the brand is staying the same, so they say that I should be OK. Is that most people's experience? is 5 and weighs about 36 pounds. He normally gets 7g, but this time they increased it to 8.5g because of exposure to meningitis. Will that increase make a big difference in his risk for reaction? Thanks a bunch.
