Being an overachiever I thought that I would write a paper in a graduate educational psychology class on self and social identity in AS. What I found was there are very few articles concerning self and social identity, a few more on just social identity and AS, and none with a positive view of AS strengths. Although I know that articles such as this are many, this time I got really angery. Who are these people to assume that they know the inner workings of Aspies? Then I thought, wouldn't it be cool if we could prove the professionals wrong? After much searching I found a questionnaire that is designed to establish scores for self and social identity. If you would like to help with this please fill out the questionnaire that follows. I will not be distressed if you choose not to participate, you don't have to participate. But I think it would be awesome if we could show the professionals that we do have established identities and that AS does not rule how we view ourselves. Of course AS influences how we view ourselves or we probably wouldn't be part of this forum.I am leaving how to score the questionnaire in if you want to score it, but if you don't want to score it, I can. Also, after compiling all the data I will post a copy of the paper I write so that you can see for yourselves what happened. Cool? I hope so.AIQ - IVINSTRUCTIONS: These items describe different aspects of identity. Please read each item carefully and consider how it applies to you.
