Hello All,

I have a 37 yo F with dysmenorrhea. I just ran some bloodwork on her and would apprciate input regarding the results.

Cholesterol, total: 196

HDL: 114

Tg's: 47

LDL: 73

Alk Phos: 41

AST: 20

ALT: 26

bilirubin: 0.7

RDW: 14.1

hemoglobin 13.1

MCV: 91.8Monocytes: 9.4

I read that if HDL is high (above 100) and Triglycerides are low (under 40) that this can signal either an auto-immune process or excessive alcohol intake. I also read that if the person exercises excessively this can happen or if it is genetic. Any other ideas?

Alcohol intake: 2-3 glasses of wine or 2-3 cocktails 4-7 nights per week (that's what she reports to me)

Exercise: pilates, yoga, dances ballet, runs 3 miles at a go, does one or two of these every day

It seems to me that the Liver would have to be getting hit from the alcohol intake, but the liver enzymes are fine. The alk phos is surely related...

Any ideas? Many thanks.

Hi all - 35 yo mom with newborn, 2nd baby. Severe uterine cramping with nursing. Midwife says its normal with 2nd babies. Not my area of expertise. Midwife suggested 800 mg ibuprofen. She took oxycodone at the hospital. She's starting her COP tonite as she just got home from hospital. Mag phos cell salts? Appreciate any suggestions. Dr. P. I have heard that excessively high HDL can be associated with wheat or gluten intolerance, which could also relate to autoimmune process. NDSeattle WAExcuse typos, sent from iPhone
