Guest guest
Also with the higher quality dog food, the stools are supposed to be easier to scoop up in a pooper scooper, as they are firmer but just the right consistency and supposed to be smaller and more regular with the good dog food. At least that's what I've heard! PJ Kassandra Calhoun wrote:Probably not the most savory of topics, but having both a large, okay giant, dog and a small dog I know a little bit about dog poop. lol I have two dogs, a Great Dane that stands 6 feet tall on her hind legs and she's only 8 months old. Then there's my Boston Terrier who is small, only 30 lbs and maybe 15 inches long at 4 years old. Guess what, they both poo the same amount, granted the piles are different sizes. They eat twice a day and poo about four times a day, give or take. This is with a high quality dog food. The cheaper the dog food the more a dog will poo. Just something to keep in mind. (( hugs )) ~ Kassandra > My problem is I love little dogs but am afraid of big dogs and assume this would include cleaning up alot of poop. Have a weak stomack. Could handle one little doggie poop but no more. Thanks, ine

I found it doesn't pay to feed cheap stuff & even some of the more expensive stuff, well known stuff, touted in the media as great food but is in fact garbage. With the amount of dogs I have, poop patrol is serious business. I cannot afford to feed anything that will make them go 3 & 4 times a day, big smelly deposits. I've found that feeding raw results in more compact, almost odorless stool, besides the health benefits. Some I feed a quality kibble 4-5 days a week with 2-3 raw days, and 2 are completely on a raw diet. Below is the link to the story of my oldest dog, who lies beside me as I type this. It's actually from the manufacturer of a premade raw diet that I feed. http://d21c.com/buddyx2/MORIGINS/pete.html Now if I can remain focused in 2004 to feed myself as well as I feed my dogs...........
