platinum rods in spine and tinnitus?

Hi all, Has anyone run into a case of tinnitus possibly secondary to platinum rod implants in the spine? I have a patient who has had severe tinnitus a week after such surgery nearly 10 years ago. She is of course totally miserable, and none of the traditional supplements recommended for tinnitus are helping her at all. Is this a matter of platinum leaking into her system, or is the tinnitus possibly secondary to vibration of the metal implant in her spine irritating the nerves in her

ears?! Recently, she was wrestling with her son, and there was pressure on her back, and since then the tinnitus has been much worse! Any help is greatly appreciated.Thank you. Sharum Sharif, ND
