I am looking for recc's for a Dr. G- approved multivitamin that covers all

minerals and nutrients, contains no artificial colors and no artificial

sweeteners (like Aspartame). I know Dr. G has mentioned the Flintstones-type

vitamins but they're loaded with colors and Aspartame which my son does not do

well with. Some of them have gluten, too. He also told us to try Poly-Vi-Sol

but it seems so incomplete- no minerals and only like 5 or 6 vitamins. My son

is on a very limited diet and I know there's no way he is getting all he needs

from food nutrient-wise. I also can't use anything with food-based flavorings

(such as " natural orange flavor " ) since reacts to everything on the food

screen.

Any ideas? Becky

Thanks, ...

Does Dr. G. approve of these, do you know?

I just want to make him happy so that every time our eosinophils go up he

can't blame it on our diet or vitamins, LOL.

Thanks, Becky

*** Hi, Becky ... understand completely. We have taken our vitamins

to the appt to show him for his advice and recommendations. But then

we're local, so that's a lot easier. If I recall correclty, the

larger, well-known and established companies are those he prefers in

re: mulit-vites. You might check out some at both of those companies

and fax the ingredients and ask for advice.

HTH !!

I just spoke to Dr. G in recent phone consult. He ask us immediately

stop Gummy Bear Vitamin, and not to use Kirkman after I told him

there is 200% of B vitamins in. However, I will keep use half dose of

Kirkmans everyday vitamin since it is hypo allergic. 's body can

also take it. I will leave out Gummy bear vitamin for now.

It is one thing afraid of immune reactions. Without vitamins, there

going to be other issues that I have to deal with. is also a

extremely picky eater.

I spoke with dr. g today and he said not to use the

vitabears by melaeuca co. He did say we could start

Theragram m for my 12 y.o. and a one a day for my 10

year old, who is heavier. Thought you'd want to know.

LOL

Of course we're using the Gummi Bears right now.

Did he say what he doesn't like about them?

I wish he could prescribe a good, hypoallergenic, complete multivitamin and

clear up all this confusion. I'm tired of wasting money on vitamins that he

says are no good. I refuse to give all the garbage in Flintstones and

the Polyvisol just seems incomplete (but what do I know)

I asked about multivitamins in my last update to Dr. G and when Adrienne called

to respond with his instructions she said to give him one " Poly Vi Flor " per day

instead of Poly Vi Sol. Has anyone tried it/know anything about it?

If someone figures out how to buy these online please let me know.

Basically, Dr. G said gummy bear contain a lot of stuff that causes

allergy, He want us to stop it right away. I use it to complement

kirkman's. If I give him one kirkman everyday, he will get enough of

B vitamin, but not enough of every thing else. However, I feel as

long as I stay with one (half of dose) kirkman's everyday, he will be

fine. I gave him MVteen before, he had stomach ach every time he

takes it.

Barb,

Thanks. I just took looked at Theragram M, it does look very good. If

use the bristol Myers brand, it looks like most likly, it look like

as hypoallergic as it can get. How ever, It high dose of Vitamin A

(5000), and almost double dose of Vitamine B. If Dr. G think it is OK

too use, then I can not see any reason that not to use kirkman's

everyday vitamin. With kirkman's, I can just use half dose of

recommand amount (one capsule), I can add in some Vitamin A if I have

to, but I prefer going low on Vitamin A, is 67 LBs, and skiny.

He had a two broken bones when in a year five years ago. So I prefer

go low on Vitamin A.

I included the links may be helpful. Please note Kirkman used two

capsule.

Dr. G was OK with Kirkman's until I told him it has 200% of B vitamin

in 2 capsules.

Just my thought.

Donna,

Poly-Vi-Flor is a multivitamin prescribed by your regular pediatrician. The

generic name for it is Multi-Vit-FL 0.25mg or 0.50 mg. Dr. Goldberg tols us to

give it to our son, he was against the Super Nuthera we had been giving him from

Kirkman lab. (This is a multi vitamin and fluoride supplement).

We use " Children's Chewable " Daily Wellness No Sucrose Vitamins and Minerals

by Schiff. (No sugar, yeast, wheat gluten, artificial colors or flavors.)

Haven't seen any adverse reactions to this one.

He felt they were or could be impure and cause

immunity problems. He said to stick to the big name

brands. He also did not want my boys on anything for

the first year. Barb

I intend to fax the label ingredients of the vitamins

he rec'd before I actually give them to the boys, to

dr. g. for his final approval. I will feel safer that

way. My son is 62 lbs. on good days and 12 1/2 years

old. Barb

My impression is that Dr G. is quite OK with Kerkman every day

vitamin. It got in trouble when I mention the %200 of B vitamins and

the small amount of Taurine and etc. Think of it, the amount of Amino

Acid is very small, and 1 capsule of the every day vitamin will work

out for B vitamins. That is what I am doing now.

I was told about Bright Child vitamins. They are all natural. I am going to

look for them online shortly. If you find them please post where you found

them.

Thanks

I am wondering what good brand of multivitamins are being used by members

here. I'm looking for a complete vitamin/mineral without all the added

colors, etc. and a reasonable price would be nice too!

Thanks.

New Chapter Brand Vitamins are excellent. They are food based. However, pretty

expensive.

Hi Beth,

Check out Kirkman's website. MY son takes the Everyday multi .

It's a capsule , so I just open it a put it directly into his milk and

he doesn't even know the difference. I do the same with Vit C.

They are all gluten, casein free, no yeast, added flavoring

or anything artificial.

Hi,

Bright Child Vitamins are available @ Whole Foods. My son

was taking them but then started to refuse them. It was liquid

a orange/mango flavor which he did not like. He is now taking

a powder which I mix into his Almond milk. Sooo much easier.

I would also recommend Kirkman's chewable. My 3 y.o. likes it & I

like it's high nutrient content.

We use the Juice Plus Chewables (they also have gummies, and we've

tried both but she prefers the chewables, and they don't have corn

syrup like the gummies do). I like them because they are completely

food based. But they are fairly expensive. No added colors or

anything, and I think the food based ones are more absorbable.
