Guest guest
Aekta, Thank you for updating on Max. It wonderful to hear that he's doing so well. If you don't mind my asking for the benefit of others, did you try casting beginning under or over age 2? And what was his curve number before the first cast? We're all learning from everyone's experience, here. Down from 80's to 40's- that's great! Wow, way to go Max! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Max is doing fantastic after his VEPTR II surgery 1 1/2 years ago at Shriners Chicago. He wore 10 casts in 20 months none of which held his very rigid curve (not even the one Miss Mehta herself applied).Max is now 4 1/2 years old. He remembers his cast very well and does not miss it. Loves everyone at Shriners Chicago. We were just there Friday. Pre-surgery and after 10 casts, Max's main curve was in the mid-80's. Three lengthenings later Max's curve is in the mid-40's. Lower than it has been since before he was 1 years old. Max's next surgery is scheduled for Feb. 16, 2010. The current VEPTR will be removed and replaced with the next size. Max loves his preschool and is mainly disappointed that he can't do a summersault like his little brother Sam (almost 2 years old).Have a very Happpy Thanksgiving!Aekta
