Switch from Nuzarol to Diflucan

My daughter was switched from Nizoral to Diflucan about 10 days ago.

First 5 days I did not notice any changes, so I reported back

to Dr.Goldberg saying that I did not see any changes. But next

5 days... She seems to be very agitated and extremely stimmy.

Yesterday, we could not even work with her, she flapped her hands

up to 70 seconds non-stop and we could not interuped it.

She had a very bad sleeping pattern to start with (2-3 hours

to fall asleep but at least she slept through the night).

Benadryl seemed to help a lot. Last 5 days even Benadryl does not

help. Two days in a row she sleeps for about 3-4 hours.

Today she missed school because I could not wake her up (fell

asleep at 1:00 AM, woke up at 4:00 AM and was up until 7:30 AM).

I am not sure if any of it has to do with Diflucan or all of it

has to do with Diflucan. Is it possible that her body got used

to Benadryl and it does not work any more? Can it be that Benadryl

and Diflucan do not work together? How can it be that first 5 days

I did not see any changes at all? Can it be that it is not Diflucan

at all? Did anybody else had experience with swithing

from Nizarol to Diflucan?

I am sorry for triple posting the message. It took 48 hours for the first

message to appear. By that time I thought that there was something wrong

with my computer so I posted it two more times. So Sorry!

Bella,

I am not a doctor nor do I have medical training. See a physician for

medical advice.

When taking Diflucan (to treat for fungus, I presume?) You can

sometimes see what is called the Herxeimer affect (I think it is

spelled) which is a die off of the fungus that increases the toxin level

in the patient's system and manifests itself as increased stimming and

Autistic behaviors.

Ask your doctor if this could be what you are seeing. It should be a

temporary phenomena as the the rest of the fungus is eliminated.
