Guest guest
Hi all, Does anyone know how long Dr. G recommends staying on antivirals? 's viral titers were all neg. except the coxsackie, which is high. Since he had this virus in the summer one would expect his titer to be high. Doesn't this mean that his immune system is functioning properly, or am I way off base here? He also shows high MMR titers but Valtrex isn't indicated for treatment of measles or rubella. Sorry guys, but the whole viral piece has me confused !! Is Dr.G treating for unknown viruses that we can't test for? If so, than it makes sense to stay on the meds.. I have one more question about Paxil, we started it 10 days ago. 1/4 of a 10 mg. tab per day. is 4 1/2 yrs. old and 33 lbs. Today we increased to 1/2 tab and from what I understand we should alternate between 1/4 and 1/2 tab. then go to a 1/2 tab daily. How long should we alternate the Paxil ? Thank you in advance for your help, Anagnostakos
Guest guest
Hi , From what I've heard, Dr. Goldberg cuts back on antivirals when he sees that a patient's immune system appears to be healthy (per blood tests and behavior). He does so gradually, instructing parents to look for behavioral changes that suggest regression. The antivirals he uses are only effective against viruses in the herpes family. They do not destroy coxsackie viruses. That said, there are three things to consider: (1) a high viral titer can be an important immune system marker in a general sense, but from what I understand there is not always a direct correlation between the titer and the virus. In other words, a high HHV6 titer can be indicative of a viral problem other than HHV6; (2) it is my understanding that an antiviral can help a child with a stressed immune system (but no active herpes infection) by ensuring that the child's distressed immune system will not have to fight the many herpes viruses out there; and (3) I think that Dr. Goldberg's archives (currently " down " ) contain posts where he has said there are likely many, many herpes viruses out there that are presently undentified. --- In , " HARRY ANAGNOSTAKOS " <lsa5885@m...> wrote: > Hi all, > Does anyone know how long Dr. Guest guest
With antivirals we had some moderate crankiness/clinginess for less than a week. Then almost immediate improvement in energy, he became very " naughty " (like 2 yr olds are) and his motor planning for speech improved, as evidenced by rapid improvement in verbal skills that has continued over the last 10 mos. When I look back at how rapidly his speech has come in, it amazes me (and his SLPs). Becky Re: test results > > > That's what I was told about her Candida being negative. Guest guest
Do any of you know if our kids will need to be on antivirals and antifungals for life? What is the timeline or protocal for this. Also, what exactly is the effect of the antiviral for our kids and why do their titers go up and down? Over time on antivirals should the child get better and be able to reduce and eventually stop the antivirals? I am so confused - I also would like to know the same things about the antifungals. Thanks,

Guest guest
Did the sensitivity to light and sound sensitivity start since on anti viral . If not check out irlen lenses makers a hugh difference to light sensitivity. Auditory integration therapy helped big time with sound sensuitivy our son constantly had hands over ears for certain sounds. We still deal with viral issue but light and sound sensitivity really decreased with other treatments. Irlen website gives you checklist worth looking into On 8/7/10, chocolatiluv <chocolatiluv@...> wrote: > We are on our 3rd antiviral Famvir then acyclovir now starting on valtrex > tomorrow. > My grandson has had terrible time with eye sincitivity > to light.
