After being challenged by my son of all people I got back to working out today after a week's absence. I had tried to go too gung ho after the kids got out of school and was so worn out by last Thursday I couldn't do it. I suppose I could have but was physically and mentally exhausted from work, kids, working out plus taking on the push ups challenge and whatever and just decided to hang loose this week. I have felt better but wanted to get back to it. I challenged the kids to do some things and they decided they needed to challenge me too so out of the blue challenged me to get back to working out. I didn't even know he was aware I wasn't (I was a lot less grumpy than I was the week before when I was so worn out too). He said it was just a random thing that came out of his mouth but I figured, okay, I know what I need to do so I did today.

I did Cathe's Gym Style Back, Shoulders & Biceps and LOVED it!! This workout went by so fast even though it was about an hour long. I challenged myself a lot and went heavier than I often do with her workouts. My standard is to start with 1/2 the weight Cathe uses but that was too light for many things so where I could, I went up to about 2/3 of her weight and that was much better. I felt very challenged but loved it too. I want to do Gym Style Legs tomorrow but can't find the DVD!! I have one more place to look and will do that later. I want to get Gym Style Chest & Triceps too, I don't have that one yet. I will pick up the push ups challenge again next week. I just lost one class (they did not renew for another 12 week session) which is bad (less $) but good because I have more time now on Wednesdays with the kids and to work out and today is my last Thursday noon class. I asked to give it up because it is 25 minutes from my house each way and is a single (one class). I make $18-$24, depending on attendance and sales and with gas prices the way they are, plus it being smack dab in the middle of the day, messing up the day I could enjoy with my kids. My boss found someone else who wanted to take it so we're all happy and Miriam especially is. When I told her yesterday she said, "Yea! More mommy time!" I can pick up two classes in its place doing WW At Work programs in the fall and make twice as much or more money but in the meantime, I have the most precious thing of all, more time (with my kids and for things I want to do). I'm off soon to say goodbye. I've been doing this meeting for 2 1/2 years so it won't be super easy but I'm still really happy about it too so it will be good.

I thought it was hilarious myself considering how much I have to bug him to get off the couch! He loves to ride his bike, but that's it (and he doesn't normally go for long rides either).

Dave found "Legs." He'd used it to try out the new to us VCR/DVD player I'd gotten for the monster TV in the big area of the basement and forgot to put it back where he'd found it! I asked him and , "Have you seen..." and he said, "I think so..." Sure enough, it magically appeared after that! It is on my agenda for today but I slept in and am taking at least Miriam, possibly both, yard sale shopping in a little while and I promised both kids "Monster Cookies" (2 cookies hinged together with a huge amount of frosting in the middle with sugar eyes and I think a mouth too, they're very cute and disgustingly sweet, even for me) for good behavior yesterday. They've been out of control little pains since school let out and I told them they had to do what they were told to do the first time they were told ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT and then today we could get monster cookies but one mess up on either kid's part meant both of them lost. Lucky for them Miriam and I were gone together a good part of the day and she wasn't at all whiny and then she slept at a friend's house last night so they weren't together to get wild! The reward, btw, wasn't my (WW leader that I am) idea! They wanted it badly and I saw it as a reasonable bait for better behavior. The next reward will not be food-oriented! Anyway, I'm hoping to get to Gym Style Legs later this afternoon. I have DOMS in my upper back/lower shoulders, almost triceps too even though triceps weren't part of yesterday's workout and it feels good in a bad way! :-)

Hi , How funny that called you out on working out! And cool, too! Glad to hear that your work schedule is clearing up so you can spend more time with the kids for the summer, too. Yay!Glad you loved Gym Syle - and I hope Legs appears soon! Looking forward to hearing more - and say "hi" to Cathe for me. I'll meet up with her again one of these days. I too, have tons hers to try out.Hugs, Sara>> After being challenged by my son of all people I got back to working out today after a week's absence.
