Don't feel guilty for " giving " your daughter OCD! It is not a choice you

were able to make (just like not being able to decide the color of our kid's

hair

or eyes.) Your daughter is lucky to have a mom who understands what is going

on and have a family that is treating it early in life! I understand that I

am responsible for the OCD being passed down but I also feel that I am not at

fault. Kelley in NV

*****Hey , no guilt allowed!! :-) You perhaps passed on some

tendency toward an anxiety disorder in the same way it was passed to you,

the same way you passed on hair color, complexion and other characteristics.

We are all a genetic mixed bag of positive, negative and neutral attributes,

and no one gets to choose which are passed on to our children!

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but hope having it answers some

questions for you. In most situations, knowing what the problem is, is half

the battle in solving it.

You are now in a good position to model for your daughter taking good care

of yourself and your disorder, and living successfully with it.

Take care,
