Guest guest
HI Diane, This wrist and hand stuff can be terribly painful and it is constantly there when you use your hands - I had carpal tunnel issues and also some thumb base pain - which was intense lately. my mother currently has something that sounds very similar to what you describe. I am glad to hear you are not going down the surgery path or the use of strong drugs. there are many natural antiinflammatory herbs that can help - from chinese to western. also homeopathy can be useful as well as topical applications of essential oils, arnica cream and things like the sea minerals creams I would also be looking to nutrients implicated in this - for example Magneisum and B6 can often make dramatic changes to carpal tunnel syndroms and benfotiamine can help with nerve type pains. first or concurrently i would be consulting someone who can take a look at the alignment and adjust that if necessary - there are so many little bones in that area and one can fall out of place - esp if there is a mild nutrient deficiency or stress on that meridien. When i had the carpal tunnel a chiropractor helped it all go back into place and then i wore a brace at night for a few weeks. Lately when i had the pain another hciro adjuested it and it eased it. osteopaths can be good too. a deep tissue specialist also helped to release something there. she says she has saved so many people from dangerous surgery - sometimes the muscles entrapment is at the neck though or somewhere on the arm or back so the whole person has to be looked at. bowen therapy can also be very useful. or kineseoplogy, neural organization technque etc. I have a nifty tool called the ENAR which is invaluale for many conditions. the biptron lamp is also amazing for healing. If you use a wrap try to get one that has Far infra red - this is very healing. Avoid magnets. acupuncture could help as can moxa In Jin Shin Jyutsu - the area below the thumb is Safeyt Energy locl #18 and related to body consciousness. JSJ could also help esp with releasing the neck etc. Jon Shin Do as well... let us know how it goes.... Teddyberen@... wrote: Hi.. I have been trying to heal my thumb area from an injury to no avail and am open to any suggestions. I saw an Orthopedic physician today and I allowed him to take some x-rays and for a layman's term, I have what is called a trigger thumb. Much pain and where my knuckle is, that area locks. Dr. said I have two choices mega cortisone injections and if that does not work, which he doubts it will, then surgery. I was an operatiing room nurse at one time, and I rejected both suggestions, as I have seen this surgery twice and it was not a success. He gave me a brace to wear, which is similar to one I have. I have been treating this area for awhile now, and it is not becoming any better.. Any suggestions? Appreciate any input on this.. have pain where the bone is and when the thumb knucle locks.
