Guest guest
How wonderful, ! Your excitement made me smile and the workout itself sounds GREAT! Tonite's upper body workout with Ben Tonite's workout was at Strada Gym with Ben. We did circuits again, this time targeting chest, back, biceps, triceps and core and again there was a pleasant variety! We did 3x through, 15 or 12 reps for most, 10 for a few: Single arm chest presses on the ball, 25 lb dumbell Alternating ball pushups, which I REALLY sucked at, I could only do 4 of them and oddly, my left arm was stronger at this than my right. For the third time through we did pushup to a side plank instead and those didn't seem so bad. Bicep curls with Ben stepping on the band Barbell bicep curls 35 lb bar Prone incline double arm rows, 25 lb dumbells Reverse fly with a band Skull Crushers 35 lb barbell Supine pullovers 35 lb dumbell Prone ball situps: HARD but FUN! Ben would throw a medicine ball as I was leaning back, then just as I was about to do a situp I'd throw it as hard as I could back to him, so we had a challenging (for me) game of catch! Knee tucks and later, pikes on the stability ballAfter that we got to end with my requested boxing drills! He hadn't used the mits before and I hadn't practiced on them since my Hapkido class in 2005 and at that we used them for kicks. It was a BLAST! It was just like you see on the Biggest Loser. So much fun! I had a great time and am grateful to my special friend who gifted this session to me! Hope everyone is having a nice evening! Guest guest
But the OCD-ness and planning is half the fun! Yours will surely be more intricate than anything I've ever thrown together, so I'm intrigued and can't wait to see  Maybe send us a calendar in Word with the workouts listed per day?  I want to do a bunch of Long virgin workouts but I don't think they fit in well with bodybuilding, so maybe I could do these in the morning, heavy lifting at the Sweat Shop at lunch, stretchy yoga in the evening if I have it in me? Love that does yoga in the pm 3x per week!  Thanks! Guest guest
 Thank you for asking the difficult questions, Cola Pop! 1) Ben's workouts are an hour long and are in circuits that go from one body part to another; Noel's are 30 minutes long that kill 1-2 body parts doing 3 or 4 exercises 3 sets of 10-12 per machine before moving on to another part and are very intense. IMO Ben's workouts are more " fun " because there's lots of variety, but Noel's, while the same every time for that body part, are more effective, I feel, at least for muscle building which is my personal goal 2) I don't know what Ben charges since my sessions were a gift, but I have a feeling it's very expensive. I get a great deal with Noel because the sessions are 30 minutes and I buy them in bulk and pay for them all upfront in cash 3) Both Ben and Noel are hot I feel a special chemistry, however, with Noel. Ben has more of a strong soccer player's physique and Noel has the bodybuilder physique. Noel, however, is married, and I believe Ben is single if his FB page this evening is up to date. If he asked me out - why I would say yes and be very happy! 4) Noel knows I got free sessions with Ben. I have yet to hear his reaction but I'll bet you are correct in that he is scoffing Noel is very traditional with his workouts and his way is the ONLY way, lol I'm really looking forward to seeing what Ben's leg day is like! Noel's is brutal and even mine with at the Sweat Shop is brutal. I'm sure Ben will give me some great ideas to incorporate into that. I'm for sure making do the medine ball catches with me when she gets back from vacation! Guest guest
Ha, most of the time I like planning the workouts more than I like *doing* them, hee. Therein lies the problem! ;-) I'm working on some printable stuff, so I'll let ya know. Given how many options I'm planning to have each day, I probably can't fit the workouts on an overall calendar, but I'll see what I can do. I day by day list with the focus of each workout is coming together already. I like Tracie Long, too, but you're right - her style isn't very Noel-like. If you used light weights for a morning workout with Tracie, that might work out with your other weight work. Just be careful not to overtrain. I know you won't see Noel for a while yet, but have you talked to him about an outline for your plan to be ready to hit the stage in March? And how to work in your half marathon training, too? Just curious. Hugs! Sara > > > > > > > > > > Tonite's workout was at Strada Gym with Ben. Guest guest
No, I haven't spoken with Noel re: the stage. I will when I see him - he's super busy with his pro clients that are winning left and right, so proud of him! Meanwhile I'm working on my diet, which is the biggest key element. I work out lots, that's never my issue. I've been doing well with it this week too. My new favorite breakfast is Chiobani fat free greek yogurt, flavored, with a peach. Chiobani pre-measured (usually I would buy a big tub of plain and parse it out in 1/2 cup portions to containers myself) and quick and easy, has carbs and protein needed for the early morning. And if Noel feels I won't be ready for the March show I'll do a later naturals local show. I just need this goal to get me looking the way I want to look and to stick to the diet.I am convinced that parts lifting is the way to go though, that way you can lift hard 5-6 days per week while allowing each muscle group to recover. Lots to think about for sure! Hugs!  Ha, most of the time I like planning the workouts more than I like *doing* them, hee. Guest guest
Woo! Strong woman!  Tonite's workout was at Strada Gym with Ben. We did circuits again, this time targeting chest, back, biceps, triceps and core and again there was a pleasant variety! We did 3x through, 15 or 12 reps for most, 10 for a few: Single arm chest presses on the ball, 25 lb dumbellAlternating ball pushups, which I REALLY sucked at, I could only do 4 of them and oddly, my left arm was stronger at this than my right. For the third time through we did pushup to a side plank instead and those didn't seem so bad. Bicep curls with Ben stepping on the bandBarbell bicep curls 35 lb barProne incline double arm rows, 25 lb dumbellsReverse fly with a bandSkull Crushers 35 lb barbellSupine pullovers 35 lb dumbell Prone ball situps: HARD but FUN!
