Guest guest
what I love about this online experience is how we all bring different experiences and ideas and understandings to share. that is the whole point most of my mb life there has been nothing at all happening here so it is lovely to hear about the organized sense of community in israel. many people in the world can only dream of this. I have learnt mostly from trial and error, asking LOTS of questions, reading and a few trips (not that many Klara!) others have been in very structured learning environments, other had mentors, community, family. we all bring out unique experiences no we dont all aspire to or have interests in the same things. Some people find algebra fascinating. I would rather watch grass grow. Others like to know how their computer works. I just want to use it. I am interested in many things though and find it interesting to explore - for example when we were looking at eco building for our house i investigated roof tiles and found a source of infinite fascination - truly. people dont give roof tiles much thought but there are som lovely ones and some plain awful ones. then there is thatched. dont get me started on thatching. I saw the Thatched earth Cafe (made of rammed earth) and wanted to fly in thatchers from NZ (it lasts 50 years you know) but my dad drew the line at that. how did I get onto roof tiles? but see anything can be interesting....hey you guys wake up would you?!!! ;-) Klara LeVine wrote: > > Klara, > > Yes, Ilanit is amazing, and you're amazing too! My newest challenge to myself is to be totally honest, especially with myself. I thank you for your kind words, but in terms of honesty, I stand by what I said - intellectual facts is not something that I aspire to, and I realize because it's not something I am good at - and yes, I do admire people who are good with it. I am NOT saying I don't know anything, that would be silly. Just all those facts do seem complicated to me. I've been at mb for 11 years, but no I haven't gone to the many places that Ilanit has gone to study - but that isn't the issue. I truly believe we all have talents and we all have limitations. I do not feel that is of any discredit to anyone. And no, none of us can be all of everything - thank G-d we're all human. But I do understnad your message, , and I do thank you.
