You're amazing!! But does someone who wants to be balanced have to be as knowledgeable as you???? I hate to admit this, tho I am bowled over by your expansive amount of facts, it discourages me, I don't feel I could ever remember so many different factors. What saves me is simplicity - grain, bean and vegetable, root and leaf and that does me for now - well, not totally correct, I do understand yin/yang for season and some other small stuff. I know you see is as an adventrue, something like a great detective book - I can do that sometimes, but not most of the time. otoh, maybe I'm lucky as I'm not suffering from anything, so don't have any strong motivation. Well, each of us on our own paths. Again, feel most fortunate that our paths have crossed. KlaraIlanit Tof wrote: What an interesting post! I love reading about the miracles of food a smedicine and have lots of books with this kind of info I just love to read.what I really love about mb and which I think is kinda uique about it even in the whole holisitc and wholefood and food as medicine genre is the understanding of how it all fits together. for example tomatos may be really rich in lycopene - an antioxidant or some super foods and berries may be as well but if someone has a certain condition or is eating for a specific goal and these very foods which sound beenficial could actually be counterproductivealso a lot of these popular studies on the specific effects of foods may have different effects on people who eat a low or no animal food diet - it really changes the physiology and a lot of these very yin (expansive) items like tomato, banana, berries, goji juice etc make a huge

difference as it starts to unwind the stuckness of years of conjesting yang foods.similarly the understanding of what and how sodium and potassium interact is another thing quite unique to mb understanding. in common culture sodium is seen as the bad guy and potassium the good guy. sure the sodium dumped on your fries is really not a good thing but the balance between sodium and potassium is vital - too much potassium from tropical fruits etc can cause nercous sytems disorders, circulatory problems and many more. it is all about balance - it is not about one meal, one food, one cure, but the moderate and middle road approach that makes for balance. Of course being aware of the properties of foods and how one prepares them is the key to alchemy with food and being able to consume anything in balance. one just has to be aware of what one wants to achieve, their own enegies and how to play with them!lots of

-Klara,

A friend asked me the other day why I write G-d with the dash.

Since you wrote it too I wonder if you could explain why you think

you do it.

Thanks

Reg
