Has anyone on the list used Juice Plus? If so, did you ask Dr. G if

he thought it was okay? A mom I know has started using it with their

child and claims to be seeing good results.

It is a product that says it provides nutrition from 17 different

fruits and vegetables. It says it is gluten and casein free. The

thing that struck my eye was some research they share that was done

at the University of AZ. It says the study analyzed if taking it

would improve the immune system. After 80 days, researchers

found " significant improvements in the immune system componants they

measured, including the activity of T-cells, B-cells, and natural

killer cells and the levels of cytokines. " Results of this study

were published in the jounal Integrative Medicine, 1999.

It, like everything else, it not cheap. If anyone has used it, feel

free to email me. I would like to hear from some more parents before

trying it.

Thanks,

I'd be interested also. It looks like a good product. The only thing that Dr.

G. might not like is the red fruits (cherry), or if any of the children are

sensitive to any of the ingredients.

I have never heard of it but it sounds interesting. Do you think your friend

could find a web site that has info. on this product so we can research it and

maybe send a copy to Dr. G.

Thanks

The pamphlet I received says the grains used are barley and oats. It

also says the products are gluten and dairy free. My friend's son is

very sensitive to gluten, so the fact that he does fine with it is

reassuring.

Other fruits and veggies listed are:

apples, oranges, pinapple, cranberries, peacher, acerola cherries,

papaya, carrots, spinach, broccoli, kale, cabbage, parsley, beets,

tomato

Dr. G has told me to watch out for berries. It would make sense that

if a child reacted to any of these foods that the Juice Plus should

be avoided.

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

I would think the pineapple, papaya (tropical fruits) and cherries

are no-no's, even if the child didn't show up as reactive to those

fruits in the allergy testing.

Has anyone had any luck with a juicer? Anyone figured out a way to

get their kids to drink juiced veggies (since we are limiting

fruits)?

I just had a phone consult with Dr. G and he said to stay away from tropical

fruits and red fruits, so I would have to agree with you on that!

I'll just add that the only way I have been able to get vegetables into my son

is by going back to baby food. He will eat most of them if I warm them up and

add a bit of salt. For the green ones (peas and green beans) I have to be a bit

more inventive -- I add Cheerios to them :)

By the way, my NT daughter will not eat vegetables at all. We trick the two of

them by making stew with lots of vegetables and meat and then putting it in the

blender until it is mush. I think it looks like dog food, but they both eat it

and are none the wiser to the fact that they are eating vegetables.

It may comply with GFCF...but it probably doesn't comply with the exclusions

for those following the diet..

I was told that it complies with GFCF. If he can eat fresh fruits and

vegetables, he can have it. It is not a supplement, but a food source.

My children are on it and love the chewables. I take it, and if an

adult orders for themselves, then you can participate in a children's

study on if children who take it get sick less often and get the

chewables free with your order. Kristy
