Robin,

We sound much alike! I love to read books also, in fact I own too

many books. Many of them I bought at used bookstores or half-price books, but

I'd hate to have to pack up and move right now!!! Too many books to move!

Which book are you reading by Carlson -- He has so many excellent ones!

There is " Short-cut to Therapy " , " Slowing Down to the Speed of Life " , etc.

I'm also like you -- actually it is my hubby and I. To us, the

ocean and the ocean waves are so calming and peaceful! No place better to be!

Except I guess in a Hurricane! Galveston has a lot of crime, drugs, and

projects there; but it also has so many wonderful things as well. There is the

Strand by the Pier which is a wonderful shopping area of olde buildings with

stores and restaurants. There is the Seawall which is so much more enjoyable

than walking in my neighborhood. Etc. etc. About three different times in

our lifetime, we have almost bought a home in Galveston, but something stopped

us each time. It was that feeling inside us, that said the time isn't right,

yet. So, we would back out. But, I'm 47, and wondering when the time will

come!!! Oh well. Enjoy your Sunday!! Hugs, PJ, owner/co-moderator

I am an avid reader. I have just found my book by the same gentleman

that wrote the little book Don't sweat the small stuff I mean the

small stuff. I am going to start reading it tonight. I found a lot

of similarities in this book with all the positive things that your

group is trying to do. I will share some with you. I forgot I had

the book. I also have a book 500 ways to throw away stress tips to

unclutter your life by Donna Smallin. I am going to check out these

two and see if they can start heading me in the right direction along

with checking your archives and getting to know you all.

The island is a nice place to live however there are no chain stores

here, Walmart and no malls. I can live without those till I go off

island. What I can live without is the prices some of these clothing

stores charge it would make you choke.

The best part of all is seeing the ocean. The ocean seems to have a

calming affect on me and I need to find a place that I can chill once

in a while. I will ask my husband what's safe. There is crime and

drugs over here too. More drugs than you would won't to know about.

A lot of alcoholism too. But its an island and I am enjoying as much

as I can. I do think its beautiful and relaxing. Now if I can keep

the beautiful and relaxing a part of my every day life.

Talk to you all soon.

Hello,

The book I am reading is Don't Sweat the Big Stuff and so far its

really good. I have been reading it at work. Plus I have another

book I am reading as well. Its late and I should go to bed need to

get up for work but just reading some of these posts I am so glad I

found this group. Thank you for such a wonderful group.

Also I do think we are alike. My husband took me out by a couple of

houses he was working on. Took me to Menemsha and watched the waves

for a few minutes I know where I just might drive out too now. Its a

bit secluded and its beautiful.
