Kassandra,

I checked that out long time ago and it was futile. Thanks for the idea

though. Any other suggestions?

Kate,

Of course I don't know the whole story, I'm sure there's so much more to it,

but it looks to me like you've had nothing but stress from owning this house.

What motivates you to keep it? Is it an old family home? Sometimes things

are just not meant to be - but I know we never want to give up cause sometimes

the answers come at the last moment!! Nola and I both can attest to this

fact, as can others on this list.

I think what I would do is just offer it up to whoever you believe is your

Higher Power (God, Universe - however you see it) and let go, then believe that

the answers will come. This is hard for me to do - but sometimes its the only

way to restore any sense of peace in your life.

My motto for 2004 is " Simplify, simplify, simplify " Easier said than done -

but I have to or just quite simply go crazy...lol. I, myself, can't imagine

hanging on to a house that has caused me this much stress - so thats why I'm

thinking there's more to it than " just a house " . And you're going around in

circles trying to get the problems fixed. Just remember that your Higher Power

has everything under control (even in what looks like chaos) and He has

something better in store for you. But first you have to " let go " (I hate when

people tell me that....LOL) and accept that life is as it should be. Since I'm

not

real happy with my life right now - accepting that this is how it should be

is extra hard!! But I am trying to just live a moment at a time and finding

the joy in " that moment " . Its working!!! And it has given the energy and

" gumption " to move ahead and restore, recreate, reclaim my life. Maybe my life

is

supposed to be this way " this moment " but the next moment will be better, MUCH

better.

The times that seem the worst are the times when something is in the works

and working for our good. Its hard to see it - but we don't see the big picture

Kate. We're learning lessons and once we accept whats happening as a way for

us to learn the lesson, then we can move on. Sometimes we don't understand

the lesson, I think this is when we just have to accept what is happening as

being for our good - cause it seems I just stay confused trying to understand

all these lessons I'm supposed to be learning.

But I know you can't sit back and just do nothing. After the holidays, would

it be possible to show up on the doorstep of some of these agencies you speak

of. MAKE THEM hear you if keeping the house is what you feel is right. MAKE

THEM tell you why they're not helping and ask them what you need to do to get

their help. It's one thing to accept our life as it is - its quite another

thing to let someone else refuse to cooperate!!

I think I've just rambled on and on - probably because I don't know exactly

how to help you but my heart goes out to you. And I know the heaviness of a

burden such as this. Sometimes when I don't know what to do - I just STOP for a

while and do nothing. Answers sometimes come and sometimes they don't - but

I can regroup and gain energy to try once again.

Keep us posted. The thing that keeps me going is I know that one day I'll

look back on this time and smile and then realize that it was a time I HAD to go

through in order to enjoy the goodness of life.

Hugs,

It is a family home. However, everything is so crazy now. Because of my

husband's abuse, we contacted an advocacy group as well.

My father in law is having surgery right now today to remove the colon

cancer, hopefully.

Thanks
