Guest guest
Hello, Thank you for the welcome! I am returning to a macrobiotic lifestyle, after being vegetarian, then vegan, primarily for health (and balance). I have hypertension - have always had it. The numbers fluctuate and I'd rather not do diuretics or blockers. I know I feel better and cooler and less stressed when my diet is essentially macrobiotic; but, can anyone suggest a substitute for all that salt....? Ume (salty), shoyu (too salty), sea veggies (salty). I crave salty and there an old saying "we crave what kills us". I did find a substitute recipe on the web for shoyu but, it was based on beef bouillon........help! Metta, Shen
Guest guest
some people find that using celtic sea salt actually lowerd bp. sometimes the cravings indicate what you need you can get ume and miso made with celtic salt in the US they have a lot of info and a book Sea Salt's hidden powers which talks about it in details also a trial of magnesium in an absorbably form often helps. often people do not absorb magnesium or have biochemical blocks like excessive calcium build up Natural Calm is a brand i have seen very good reports with some people do well with the herb hawthorn and some do well with sea minerals shenoa wrote: Hello, Thank you for the welcome! Guest guest
Hi Shen, Yes, I like that expression and try to remind myself when I'm craving something. But, what about when I was pregnant and craving those yummy chocolate turtles or whatever they are called? I am sure Ilanit will have some suggestions, she's a genius.
