Guest guest
Hi and welcome from me too. Unfortunately, I had to be out all day Friday and after lots of activities - including talking - with my best friend for about 16 hours non-stop I was so tired today that I've been unable to write a single word. But now I've slept some more so I'll be trying to catch up with posts here. Kitty:> I took the Aspie quiz and got a 148 now/ 151 earlier. So many of the sentences sound like they were constructed just for me (such as feeling tired after attempting to socialize, needing my own space and time to do tasks, finding chitchat difficult and a waste of time, having trouble with motor skills and group activities, and always feeling self-concerned and self-concious, even though I don't want to). It's amazing to me that all my little idiosyncrasies actually form one big picture. That was my goal when designing the questions - which in turn were based on traits described by fellow Aspies/autistics themselves. It's still just a pilot version, though. Many of the questions were not optimally forumulated, so I'll be redesigning it as soon as I can get the time and inspiration to. But your score still indicates a very high likeliness of AS. Rainbow: > I scored 135 on the 'Aspie-Quiz' and 13/70 on the EQ/SQ graph.Your score too indicates high probability that you're an Aspie. > My goal is to reduce the 'wake' of sorrow, tears, and frustrations mywords and actions seem to induce in those dear ones close to me!Feel free to give examples of specific situations if you like. Perhaps we may have a tip or two on how to sort them out. Have you explained that you may be an Aspie and what that means? When/if people understand that your differences, difficulties and quirks are due to you simply being wired differently, they MAY be more inclined to understand you and accept you as you are. Rainbow: > I am a sixty six year old male, well educated, from quantum mechanics to a degree in fine arts. Quantum mechanics sounds fascinating. Perhaps we could have a discussion about it here? > After twenty two years of schooling I was employed for six years as an inventor/industrial designer, creating consumer products for mass production. For the last thirty five years I have been gainfully self-employed as a woodworking artisan. I live on a mountain top, up a road that starts with a sign that reads: long, winding, one lane, seven miles. I built my own home out of recycled lumber, work in a greenhouse, use my grandfather's tools to construct tiny wooden boxes. I sell them in a fashion that only necessitates my leaving home about twenty weekends a year. Sounds wonderful! Perfect life for an Aspie. Kristynlioness: > Um, let's see I'm 20, but will be 21 in two months, and didn't know I had Asperger's til I was 19 in January 2004. I really love to draw and it's how I express myself. I used to draw and paint a lot too when I was younger. And make collages. Here are some examples of mine: http://www.creative-minds.info/Lorelei/Art.htm If you like, you can share some of yours in the Artworks file here:http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/FAMSecretSociety/files/Artwork/ Or do you have a home page too?
