WI: Raw Milk Bill- ACTION ALERT: VETO OVERRIDE A GOOD POSSIBILITY

I had a very nice conversation today with a staff member of Wisconsin Senator

Russ Decker. He indicated that if Sen. Decker felt there were enough votes to

override the veto in the Assembly, he would schedule the " Veto Review Session " '

( this must be done by the end of June). ( no actual promises were made).

This means that we need to find a minimum of 4 Assembly persons who voted

against the bill in the regular session to promise to vote for it in the " Veto

Review Session " .

THIS ACTION ALERT IS FOR WISCONSIN RESIDENTS ONLY. IF YOU ARE NOT A WISCONSIN

RESIDENT, PLEASE FORWARD THIS ALERT TO ANYONE YOU KNOW IN WISCONSIN.

Step 1: Look up your Assembly Person. Use this Link:

Once you know who your Assembly Person is go to this link to see if they voted

for or against the Raw Milk Bill:

If your Assembly Person voted against the bill ( or did not vote) use the phone

number from the first link to call him ( or her). Ask the staff person you speak

to, if the Assembly Person would be willing to vote for the Raw Milk Bill

(SB434) if a " Veto Review Session " is called.

Make this a very friendly conversation: No pushing at all. Tell them why this

bill is so important to you. Ask the staff person what the thought process was

when he made his first vote. Ask open ended questions. Get the staff person to

do most of the talking. Ask the staff person to step away from the phone and ask

the assembly person his thoughts. Ask to speak to the assembly person one on

one. The key is to make a friend and to keep a friend. Get whatever response you

can. Thank them for their time.

When the phone call is complete, write an email to me off list at

charlier1955@.... Give me a complete summary of the phone call. Did you

get a definite yes or a definite no. Did you get something in between. Describe

in detail what that in between is,

I will then compile a list of probably swing votes. We will then focus on

getting a firm commitment in writing from at least 4 and forward it to Senator

Decker.

Please do this before the weekend, so we can develop our next step by monday.

There were 39 assembly persons we can swing. We only need 4. THIS CAN BE DONE.

CALLING YOUR LEGISLATORS IS REALLY VERY EASY, EVEN IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE IT

BEFORE.

PLEASE DO IT NOW. THERE ARE FARMERS THAT WILL GO BANKRUPT THIS YEAR WITHOUT THIS

BILL. RAW MILK WILL SAVE THE FAMILY FARM. PLEASE DO IT NOW.
